Nice to see the Grrrr Boris brigade are still more frothy than a frothy thing from frothville.

Honestly, give it a rest. We get it, you don’t like Boris. But as much as you whine and whinge and make useless platitudes such as “The U.K. is diminished on the world stage because of Boris”, you ain’t going to get rid of him. You can have your say in 2024.

Intersting to hear today is the day a windfall tax has been announced. This will surely push many tory suporters over the edge as they rounded on t'other lot for suggesting the same thing, many claiming it was pointless, counter intuitive and unworkable.

for me, its not specifically boris but rather the ethic and standards being deployed by the entire administration. Yes boris is a liar, moral vacuum, a cheat, and awful leader and thats part of the problem but i've nothing against him personally, though i'd probably not be friends with him. I think he is more suited to a double glazing salesman role, for example. No offense to DG salespersons.

No st Sherlock. Well I'll give you a point for Grrr Boris, but you've missed an opportunity by not pointing out it was only a bit of birthday cake and he got Brexit done and we nearly won Eurovision under his glorious leadership.

Quite impressed by Tobias Ellwood's words during PMQ. Setting his stall out for a leadership bid?
He is one of the few with decent morals and that I would actually trust.
This Tobias Ellwood?

Which of his morals are you particularly impressed with?
Was that actually illegal under the rules at the time? The article suggests not, but the information I can find elsewhere is incredibly unhelpful.
Having read that article, I am not sure the people shouting Hypocrite have read the same one. I must be missing something. It did not read like it was an illegal gathering and was organised under tier 2 rules by a professional events company - and was not a bunch of people getting pissed up in an office. Optics - iffy I guess although business did need to continue during lockdown, but not illegal and not on the level of the shenanigans going on in number 10 and also appears to be a one-time thing, not a weekly piss-up and abuse of the staff? Not sure which morals are questionable from TE there?

No way, the Tory faithful will say it is the government reacting to the situation and adapting (try to pretend the situation is the cost of living crisis, not partygate).

Indeed. It's only pointless, counter intuitive and unworkable when someone else suggests it

Might not be until 2025 now. And beyond if Beer Korma isn't replaced by everyone's favourite Burgon before then.

I for one, look forward to the weekly Boris/Tory party fk ups that will continue through until he is replaced either by his own party or by the electorate. I'm mostly looking forward to the rapidly diminishing numbers of people defending this train-wreck of a government.

What IS bizarre is making st up that people have never said.

But keep going. It makes you look morally superior. Or something.
If you’re going to struggle with the basics of language I can’t be responsible for that. It’s not difficult to look morally superior to people who are desperately tying themselves in knots to defend a lying, cheating narcissist who wouldn’t piss on them if their hair was on fire.
OK Agatha, kindly quote where I have said Boris has done nothing wrong, and that Ellwood should be hung.

It ain't me who has a problem with language and comprehension my pedigree chum.
Well, you do seem to be struggling with the concept of hyperbole as a rhetorical device, and not for the first time. If you are autistic and struggle with literal thinking, then I apologise.

Yup agree with that.

As you would expect from the source it is the Conservative argument as to why he needs to go. Though they don't explicitly come out and say it of course.

You missed the bit where he said it was a work gathering but the organiser called it a xmas party...

Seems to me that the Conservatives are now taking a massive risk by keeping Boris in No 10. Replacing him next Spring will be to late to embellish the Conservatives to the electorate, save the dyed in wool Conservatives. Cant see the ‘Red Wall’ continuing to vote for a Conservative Government next time around. The money pot is far to empty to be able to bribe them with the level up promises.
Then looking at Labour, I just could’nt bring myself to vote for them, the Shadow front bench is even worse then the current cabinet.

It's simple really.

The UK thought they were voting for Boris Johnson, but have ended up with Boris Yeltsin with worse hair.

I'll call it now for a hung parliament next time around. Which will probably be even worse for the the country in the long term as it could result in 4 years of being able to decide nothing about nothing.

A dose of reality that all this pointless moaning will force him out of office?

Yup, very likely, the last one didn’t work out as bad as may have been imagined with the L.D. shaving off the worst excesses of the Conservative Policies at the time. Conservatives and Labour having to work together, that’al be interesting.
