Boris Johnson’s attitude towards the rules is continuing in his usual manner, if this morning’s reports (see 9.24am) that he is to join the Daily Mail as its “erudite new columnist” said to be on a “very high six-figure sum” are accurate.
Until September 2024, Johnson is required under government rules to seek advice from the advisory committee on business appointments (Acoba) before taking up any new roles. But this morning, Acoba told the Guardian that they have not received an application from the former prime minister and will be writing to him on the matter.

And the hairdresser got an OBE...
Indeed, quite unbelievable. I'm sure the charity workers, the highly skilled doctors and researchers, anyone really who has done anything to deserve an Honour is so pleased to be sharing the title with someone who's only achievement in life was being Boris's hairdresser. What a fine job he did, too! Can you spot the difference.....?

Most of the country don’t actually care.
Not at all true. Those who couldn't attend funerals, couldn't see their elderly relatives, even those who were just shut up at home, pausing all of life's pleasures and enjoyments care that inside the walls of Number 10 they were continuing business as usual, and throwing the rules out the window when it suited them. The only people who don't care are those with no morals themselves, and an equally arrogant "fk it" attitude. Unfortunately this is why he remains popular with many of the Party members!

At the end of the day, regardless of where anyone sits on Johnson, or the committee, this is just ridiculous.
This nation is facing imminent crises on various fronts, not least an economic crisis that will be affecting people. Need to move on and get dealing with real issues that are facing us collectively.
It's beyond pathetic.

It's beyond pathetic.
More importantly it hopefully begins some rebuilding of credibility in UK plc which has been seriously damaged by Bojo and the clowns.

Nice of them to help the grifter pay for his extensive child support.

What got him ousted as an MP was FACTS.

To be fair to Boris (I hate writing that) he is pretty well read and did study to a high level of education... so an erudite clown might be a fair term?
but he's not a clown, is he? He's a compulsive, habitual liar. That's not funny.

Could be worse the SNP could be running the country. Labour completely unproven looking at Wales and the NHS doesn’t look a good starting point or Khan and the way he runs London. Starmer has made so many u turns I can’t recall what any of the agreed Labour policies are but go ahead name some. I’m interested
I think that they've pledged to raise the standards of grammar and punctuation.deadslow said:

To be fair, the whole house was laughing at him when he stood up in Parliament and said there were no parties, when 2 days earlier this picture was in the paper.... He's a compulsive, habitual liar. That's not funny.
The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command. George Orwell, 1984.
