Because he's well known for his fantastic journalism...

https://inews.co.uk/opinion/boris-johnson-journali...

"one of the great exponents of fake journalism" - Chris Patten

"Patten’s bold claim proved to be true, as Johnson was later fired from his post as editor of the Spectator for falsifying quotes"

And the one I always trot out ..

Reportedly telling his supporters not to vote against the report now... likely because it will expose how few continue to support him
Telling that only 7 asshats have publicly backed him.

And just like Trump, he’ll end up burning them all somewhere down the line.
I'm amazed even Dorries stuck by him.The whole reason he had to go was he ran out of people willing to be thrown under the bus. I guess the flip side is that he gave people a ride to places they'd never have reached on their own competence. Corruption IOW.

I think the ironic thing about Boris is that, had he come clean at the start, he'd have been given a slap on the wrist and would have stumbled on until the next crisis (Ukraine, probably) took everyone's mind off it.

It was his There were no parties (sack that woman who said there were)/ There were parties but I did't know about them/ I knew of parties but I wasn't there/ I was there but it wasn't a party/ OK, I'm breaking the law but it's not illegal that kept it in the news for so long, and at every stage he'd throw out MP's in front of the cameras to stand by his latest lie.

It was always entertaining to see cabinet ministers sent out the news studios to defend some ludicrous position or other that he'd reverse hours later.

I'm sure that the party will be unanimous in their support for the great man though

Boris like all these gangster types has tried to suck the PM into some sort of complicity by cutting a backroom deal a few times.
Once they fall for it they are going down if he goes down. Hopefully that richi kid was clever enough not to fall into it.
A lot of Trumps people have suffered while the capo is still thrashing about free just about.

He'll fit right in with the Daily Fail.

They're not known for accurate reporting, after all.

I don't know what to think:

1 - is that more evidence that he doesn't consider that rules apply to him?

2 - was it just another mishap because he is a bit thick.

3 - or the fact that he is totally disorganised and always late for everything (see the tale about his paid speech engagements)

4 - is it just trolling / provocation?

5 - didn't he realise that it would back fire and that he shot himself in the foot. Again.

6 - did he genuinely think 30mn was plenty of notice.

Is he now going to say that it's unfair and a caballe against him?

She me people apparently still support him. What does he need to do for them to stop? Or are they just like him.
I’m going with

7 he’s a self-regarding with no concept of morality or what’s right and is a total narcissist interested only in money and influence. The idea what he was ever for to lead this country is laughable. That some MP’s are choosing him as a hill to die on does nothing but tell me they’re also unfit for office.
Give that man a coconut.

Pigeon politician; flies in, makes a loud noise, sts over everything and flies off leaving everything in a worse mess than when he arrived.

A Tory member, spoilt the last leadership ballot by backing Johnson!

We’ve had more than a few frosty moments

But, even she recently said, it’s time we had a new government !

There is hope wink

My late mother started reading it and quoting from it which is when I knew that she had lost her marbles. It was about the time that the neighbours were (not) stealing her money and it was all a conspiracy against her.

Here is a link which explains what a good number of people feel about Johnson.

Reported in the Express as well, for balance.

When I was working, we used to call that seagull management. They've either changed the bird or you have it wrong.

These. Boris doesn't care, just like he didn't care before, he knows ACOBA has no ability to punish or hold anyone to account. They'll publicly rebuke him - his supporters won't care and those who already think he's a renegade with contempt of rules will have more evidence they are correct.

As his teacher said when he was 17 years old, Boris really thinks that expectations and standards applied to other people simply shouldn't apply to him. He was entirely unsuited to being PM 5 years ago, and his personality flaws have been there his whole life. It really isn't a surprise to anyone who knows anything about his history.
yes - Worth quoting the letter sent to Boris's father Stanley in 1982. Short and to the point. Why anyone should think he has changed one iota in the 40 years since beggars belief.

Martin Hammond Master in College Eton said:
Boris really has adopted a disgracefully cavalier attitude to his classical studies. It is a question of priorities, which most of his colleagues have no difficulty in sorting out. Boris sometimes seems affronted when criticised for a gross failure of responsibility (and surprised that he was not appointed Captain of the School for next half). I think he honestly believes that it is churlish of us not to regard him as an exception, one who should be free of the network of obligation that binds everyone else.
And let's not forget that one of his close friends was Old Etonian and Bullingdon Club member Darius Guppy. A toff with no morals or scruples.

What's his first Daily Mail article about then? His turmoil as PM, his support for Ukraine, his love for his 3rd (?) wife and family?

The column the whole world is talking about. The Doolally is exceeding itself at the moment, doubling down in utter lunacy.

Pretty good read to be fair.

Being able to write stuff like that whilst being completely and utterly unfit for public office aren't mutually exclusive.
Eric Gill designed one of the classic typefaces.

There's little doubt he can knock out wordage. He studied literature at Oxford so one would expect certain skills in that department. However, he failed the ethical requirement for a newspaper journo.
