Ok I live in Zone 1/2 London so understand the overheads are a lot more punchy they say arse end of nowhere.
But today a line has been crossed. £7.50p for a pint at the bar from the pump.
I’ve noticed pubs round my way remain a lot less busy. Well I cannot justify these new exorbitant prices.
Wetherspoons it is if I want a few beers!!!
It's been 7.50 for a pint of peroni in the lamb tavern, leadenhall for at least 10 years. But today a line has been crossed. £7.50p for a pint at the bar from the pump.

Glass of white wine in there is about 8.80 I recall.
Not much change from £50 when getting a round in there sadly.

How much for a pint of ordinary bitter? That is the yardstick.

I'm in the SE 45 miles from London £5 for a normal pint of lager and £4.50 for a pint of bitter is the going rate.
Decent tap room with craft beers will be £5 minimum I wouldn't buy a pint for £7:50 local to my house its not worth it IMO I have decent beer here which has cost me about £3 a pint.

I was somewhere recently - can't quite remember where but somewhere local to me in West Yorkshire - and noticed that a pint was £4 and thought that was too much. Other than getting a good wine to match with a nice meal I don't really bother drinking anyway so maybe I've just lost touch.

Not just pubs. 25-30% increase in takeaway curry on the last few months. 1 main, 1 side, rice, naan, bhajis, poppadoms, £45. Bought Sainsbury's finest instead.
£45 for a takeaway? Is that an actual takeaway or a nice restaurant that doesn't discount for takeaway? Main £10
Side £5
Rice £5
Naan £5
Bhajis £5
Poppadoms £5
+ delivery
£45 I can see that.
I had a latte in Knightsbridge yesterday and the bill was £18 for a small latte.
I did a runner.
