Overturning Roe was said to deliver the decision back to the States... except when it doesn't.

Ohio overwhelmingly votes to include a right to abortion in the State constitution, but of course the GOP christo-fascists vow not to follow that. Of course there is the usual claim of foreign interference and cheating.

Highly annoying that judge Cannon is helping him with delay tactics, is this the start of him being able to wriggle out of the charges?

trumps hoping he can delay them enough, because he's living in a bubble of yes men (and women) so believes his own hype he can be potus again.

At which point he'll invoke his potus immunity, that a sitting potus can't be prosecuted, and set of to again enrich himself, drop all the investigations into him he possible can, rig the judges, and open rigged investigations into everyone he feels has wrogged him.

Just like last time. Remember the sackings, remember the IRS investigations he set onto people. trumps has now claimed on record twice that he'll indict/charge people as retaliation for trying to hold him to account.

Thats his only hope - otherwise, there's no way he can 'wriggle out of it'. We've seen the standard of his legal team, rpefering to grandstand to impress trump, push his grievances and debunked claims, rather than actually try to defend him.

you mean like

Looks like their site is down but it was from
https://ohiohouse.gov/news/republican/deceptive-oh...

Good job it's archived
Yes it's really titled
DECEPTIVE OHIO ISSUE 1 MISLED THE PUBLIC BUT DOESN'T REPEAL OUR LAWS
Foreign Billionaires Don't Get to Make Ohio Laws
https://web.archive.org/web/20231110185839/https:/...

Ohio Republicans now want to defy the outcome of the abortion referendum by stripping Courts of their power to regulate the law. Ohio Republicans want to go against what their own voters did.

Legal experts pointing out Judge Cannons latest ruling favouring trump. Many thinking its trying to affect AG Willis trial of trump in Georgia by backing the stolen doc case into trumps election fraud case

Edit: there's more here on the unrealistic claims Judge Cannon is making of the DOJ, like failing to establish a SCIF when the investigation stated in 2022, even though they didn't know then they would be bringing charges at that point.

Peter Strzok points out her aim is to introduce delays that can't be appealed

It can't be long until they start filing for her removal surely

More of the very vocal tiny minority calling for civil war if trump isn't elected. Bet he wouldn't be involved...

So much for the law being the law and applying to everyone equally. This is yet another example of where he is absolutely getting preferential treatment. He’s also being helped with this to mess up another case. The chances of him being convicted criminally prior to the election shrink daily and that means he’s got a chance in the election. This really isn’t the slam dunk that we all want around him getting hammered in the election.

Also, any comment on the grief I got when I suggested he’d be immediately jailing and going after anyone who dared to cross him? Even Trump’s admitted that will be very high on his agenda from Day 1 if he gets re-elected. I know it’s still a big if, but it seems to be an increasing possibility (not probability)

I've said it before and I'll say it again, "No more fkin' ABBA"... sorry... I meant, they should appealed to the 11th Circuit to have her recused the moment they found out that she has been appointed. given her previous interference in this case and their admonishment of her it would have been pushing at an open door. Sow and ye shall reap.

I'm concerned about the potential entry of a third candidate and the effect on Biden's vote.

"Wriggling out" of criminal charges is not a thing in the real world just movies.

Delay yes but there will be a trial and the overwhelming weight of evidence suggests conviction.

All this means is that he will probably be convicted in another jurisdiction sooner.

Thankfully nothing like last time as he will never hold those levers of power again.

Do we not think that there is a chance of some sort of negotiated Nixonesque pardon on the grounds of maintaining national unity, with the proviso that he walks away?

It's amazing that we have just had a clear signpost of the political winds in some very red States one year before the election and yet no one seems to have noticed and we are back to the fairy tale of "Trump winning" again.

91 indictments (probably more coming) cannot just be vanished away. Even by Jesus. Each count must go to trial.

Nixon was never charged with anything because he preempted it by walking away and installing Ford.
