It's amazing that we have just had a clear signpost of the political winds in some very red States one year before the election and yet no one seems to have noticed and we are back to the fairy tale of "Trump winning" again.
I earlier speculated on the potential negative impact of a third, moderate candidate entering who would potentially disproportionately affect Biden's soft support, as opposed to Trump's hardcore. I'd rather hear other views than dismissal as 'fairy tale'.Bonefish Blues said:

Everyone on this forum seems to perceive comments personally. That was not directed at you specifically but everyone seems oblivious to last Tuesday's results. We have a clear indication of what is really happening away from the false narratives being peddled.
There is a third candidate RFK Jr but he seems to be pulling Republicans away. He will not be a factor as he doesn't have Ross Perot money and is too far out there.

fwiw I agree that the results were clear, but I'm worried, as I think are many about worst case scenarios. Most Biden voters think he's too old. Given a credible moderate alternative I worry his vote will evaporate. Maybe I'm a nervous nanny, but christ how unimaginably awful that would be!

I didn't perceive it as personal, it was an appeal for discussion of what I had raised. Why do people on here impute motives which aren't there?

As we saw in 2020, 2022 and now 2023 it is not about Biden. It is a massive wave of anti Republican sentiment primarily amongst younger voters. That massive demographic shift doesn't give a toss about the old geezer it is all about refuting the GOP.fwiw I agree that the results were clear, but I'm worried, as I think are many about worst case scenarios. It could be Biden, Obama or a spotted poodle.
You are right a moderate alternative could be an issue but RFK is a loony, far from moderate
