the law says you don't need to wear a mask anywhere, full stop.
Does the law really say anything of the kind about masks now? It didn't mention them pre-covid.Brave Fart said:

TDK will be along in a minute to agree that masks never worked, just you wait!
yeah that would be the ultimate group hug, but I won't hold my breath.Amid all this embracing of our fellow man; a note of caution from me. The mask advocates have not gone away, they've just piped down for the moment (apart from the NHS who seem grimly determined to prolong mask wearing for ever).
I fear that as winter approaches, and respiratory diseases return like they always do, we will see renewed demands for mask wearing. Not necessarily due to COVID-19, but as a general public health measure. Let's not forget the attitude of public health zealots over the last two years. In my opinion they have a fantasy of a disease-free world and they won't let little things like freedom of choice or lack of evidence get in the way of their demands.
"Don't expose Granny to influenza this winter. Wear a mask to protect her." Coming to a TV advert near you later this year.
Sad to say, I agree 100%. Airlines also seem desperate to maintain their masking power. Absurd that they'll happily pile everyone into a hot jet bridge for 15 mins mask free then vociferously insist on masks once on board. I get that there is a (tenuous) legal obligation, but rather than fulfilling that with an announcement and moving on, they're still getting very excitable about verbally forcing them on to people.
We were at a comedy club gig at the weekend. About 300 people there, one bloke absolutely wedded to his mask. Queuing to get in, standing at the bar, sat at the table with whoever he was with, I never saw that mask move from his face. You only need a few like him in power combined with with total apathy of the 'no biggie' brigade and we'll have the fking things back every winter I fear.

It depends where they are flying to. If they are flying to a place that still requires masks on public transport (Spain for example), then masks are apparently required.
Ryanair are claiming that masks have to be worn because the plane is registered in Ireland and they are required there!
Utter nonsense.

Ryanair are best avoided anyway imo. Ryanair are claiming that masks have to be worn because the plane is registered in Ireland and they are required there!
Utter nonsense.

I'm going to France next month. Does that mean I'll need a fking mask on the ferry as it's public transport??
The trip assumes that P&O will actually be sailing & the boat is deemed seaworthy.....
My Mrs is threatening to book a ferry to France so we can drag the caravan over and stop in a eurocamp. The trip assumes that P&O will actually be sailing & the boat is deemed seaworthy.....
I remain convinced we should wait until normality resumes and vote with our feet/euros. The counter being wait too long and it's another year of potentially missed opportunity. I'm expecting that once there a caravan park in France is gonna be fairly chilled.

Would this not be a batst mental idea."Don't expose Granny to influenza this winter. Wear a mask to protect her." Coming to a TV advert near you later this year.
Lets assume for a moment that masks work like they are supposed to. That would to a degree 'protect the vulnerable' however no-one else is getting any exposure to anything, no micro-doses so building up no immunity. So we all end up vulnerable.

Steady on with that common sense approach! Lets assume for a moment that masks work like they are supposed to. That would to a degree 'protect the vulnerable' however no-one else is getting any exposure to anything, no micro-doses so building up no immunity. So we all end up vulnerable.

Masks are now a convenient cue for spotting loonies (those who wear them for work excepted).
The couple across the aisle from me today, London train, wore theirs about 60% of the journey. From Market Harborough to London St Pancras they stopped being infectious and took them off.
And the odd one or two on here who cannot bear to question the strength their own religion. The couple across the aisle from me today, London train, wore theirs about 60% of the journey. From Market Harborough to London St Pancras they stopped being infectious and took them off.
They remind me of those Japanese soldiers coming out of the jungle 30 years after the war has finished having to be talked into laying down their arms.
