My place of work are finally recinding the requirement to mask up and social distance in non clinical settings from Monday.
With a caveat they will wind it back if whatever whatever something something happens......
That’s late, most employers stopped the requirement ages ago. Do you work in healthcare? With a caveat they will wind it back if whatever whatever something something happens......

I understand completely.
Add to that the public being vocally encouraged to report on their neighbours, police forces taking on powers that they just didn't have and even absurdities like Derbyshire Police officers pouring black water dye into a beauty spot lake pool “to make the water look less appealing”.
The dying of the lake was nothing to do with Covid or it being a 'beauty spot'. It's because it was very blue and inviting to look at but that is due to the many noxious chemicals in it and, as such, it was toxic to anyone who swam in it.Add to that the public being vocally encouraged to report on their neighbours, police forces taking on powers that they just didn't have and even absurdities like Derbyshire Police officers pouring black water dye into a beauty spot lake pool “to make the water look less appealing”.
I've just been from St Pancras to Paddington to swap trains and quite a few people are wearing masks on the Underground so they're here to stay I think.

I had a hospital appointment earlier today and I'm pleased to report that they have dialled down the 'masks are mandatory' nonsense. There's a few signs to that effect, but the aggressive security challenge at the entrance has gone. No one mentioned my bare faced status, and they've even put back all the chairs in reception just like it used to be. The guy with the spray bottle running round sanitising everything has also been done away with (well, not murdered I don't think, just given a different task).
2019 style normality is creeping closer, it seems.

Not in my local respiratory unit. Distanced seating, masks actively encouraged.2019 style normality is creeping closer, it seems.

I had to get something from a busy pharmacy earlier had about 5 or 6 employees. All masked. Not sure why.
Really, you can't work that out? Unless there is another scientific reason why?

Same reason that you have to sit though a load of nonsense when you get on an aeroplane - “in the event of landing on water” is rarely followed by “your chances of getting out of the aircraft are minimal and your chances of survival are vanishingly low. That’s assuming we can actually land this enormous plane on water which is itself very unlikely”
People like the illusion of safety, which is fine. What isn’t fine is imposing nonsense measures on others as a result of said illusion.

There won’t be a scientific one. There will be lots of emotional ones though.

I don't agree. Planes have successfully ditched in water. Whereas viruses have successfully made it through cloth. I think a lot of people who have been working hard possibly long hours etc may not be aware of both the law and how most of the public have read about how the changes happened. That is the only way I can try to justify mask wearing now.
Serious question. Why do you need to ‘justify’ mask wearing?

I think in the pharmacy’s case they are probably doing it because they think most customers (sick people) prefer it, and it also gives a fake veneer of clinical expertise. Like nail salons etc
I wonder whether nail salon staff wear them because of the dust generated by their work, not to engender an image of clinical expertise.Donbot said:

I know this isn't directed at me, but if you request other people do it then it should be justified. Why do you need to ‘justify’ mask wearing?

You have been on this thread long enough to know the facts and truth, have you not?
