Having travelled quite a bit recently, it seems strange that, if true, 61% of people on public transport are not actually choosing to wear masks themselves. I'd say it's 3% still clinging to the belief that they make a jot of difference at the most...

You probably need to dig into the demographic of the typical YouGov participant to get your answer

I was in Mexico at half term, no mandates in place for vaccines/testing or masks anywhere but the airport. You could fly 10hrs in a metal tube with 400 other people unmasked but to walk down the gantry and into immigration required a mask. No-one bothered.

Anyway, quite a few staff at the hotel wore masks. made communication quite difficult, they mostly spoke good English but an accent and a mask made some hard to understand. Facial cues and lip reading really help communication.

Ah, Deepti Gurdasani. If being a Covid fruit loop was an Olympic sport, she'd be the undisputed gold medal winner. I'd like to think that everyone has, by now, realised what a loon she is, and will ignore her for ever more. When I say 'everyone', I exclude Susan Michie and Stephen Reicher who would be silver and bronze medallists; perhaps they have some WhatsApp group where they huddle together to exchange stories about being 'Covid cautious'.
