The next russian president, Mikhail Khodarenok, telling it how it is. I recommend you read this article, and listen to the full video piece from Russia Today. A remarkable admission of defeat.

That didn't just leak out accidentally. There will be a reason this was aired. Preparing the Russian people for some level of defeat?https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-61484222

The blame the West / NATO / free world narrative. Oh well. Weirdly he didn't quite go down the Millwall route of "everyone hates us and we don't care", but (per the BBC); Russia needs a friend...

Apologies if this has been covered in the previous thousands of pages. With regard getting the grain out of Ukraine, the ports being blockaded etc, what's stopping them using trains and pulling out that way? I appreciate that Russia has been targeting the railway network with missiles, but keeping a railway line closed for any length of time is actually very difficult (unless you're Network Rail, apparently).
I think the Russians have been stealing a lot of the grain etc.. There's about 40M tonnes of stored grain [I know!], half of which needs to go before July, which means 'all available routes must now be used' to do that. Exacerbated a little by the change in rail guages of course. The EU, G7, UN et al have all been working on different pressure points with Russia on it I think.
However, whatever it takes, get the grain out (that was destined for export). Road/rail/Air and indeed sea - whatever. Realistically, those quantities aren't getting shifted without marine transport. They're just too huge. If that means the UN making it damned clear this is a global humanitarian effort and therefore port access WILL be enabled, fk Putin.

We’re all listening intently to him and dismissing her. The target audience will be doing the opposite.

His essays have been out there a long time. My money says he was brought in and allowed to make those arguments very publicly so the host could put the official position in.

It’ll be the equivalent of wheeling out Jeremy Corbyn on Question Time to critique British military policy. We’re all listening intently to him and dismissing her. The target audience will be doing the opposite.

This, it's all part of the dance....We’re all listening intently to him and dismissing her. The target audience will be doing the opposite.

The other panellists looking sheepishly embarrassed.
Unfortunately, he's the equivalent of the ranting loon on Question Time calling for all clothes to be knitted out of yoghurt.

Probably, but also Russian propaganda doesn't present you with a coherent picture, its intended to make you think it's not possible to construct a coherent picture so you might as well just trust the government. So a factually/logically accurate assesment added into the bewildering array of nonsense could just be part of the propaganda. We’re all listening intently to him and dismissing her. The target audience will be doing the opposite.
But he is good. In the link I posted before he predicted this whole disaster in detail before the war started.

According to something I read last night, the same car had an NLAW in the back too, discovered by the Russian police. This does rather illustrate the next decades problem - really advanced weaponry is going to leak out of this conflict in large quantities. If you think that 50% of the Russian troops are criminal enough to sell anything they capture to the highest bidder, that’s a lot of kit. And inevitably some will “go missing” on the Ukrainian side.If the terrorists get their hands on these, it will be impossible protect any high value target in public. Untraceable, line of sight, can kill a tank in 4km, what’s the point of an armoured car these days?

That would've been just the missile propellant that caused that mess. If the whole thing had gone it would be just an engine block and a diff remaining. Not sure what to make of that.
The man speaks perfect sense. - but we are not the target audience.
Why was it broadcast?
Is it to soften up the families of the soldiers who have fallen?
Why are so many Russian soldiers dying?
Once the US starts bringing in weaponry en masse ( IIRC they do seem to have a quite a lot ) and providing intellegence to use such weaponry. " Our satellites have pinpointed enemy tanks - here, here and here. Just squeeze that trigger and the missile will do the rest" it will be devasting to Russia.
The military types in the US must be lapping up the intel on the Russian forces capability also.
The whole thing seems to have backfired on Putin.
I can't see many countries/ companies be willing to go back into Russia to trade - given the atrocities that have taken place.
"War's over.... right you are then... let's turn that oil pipeline back on"
Many European countries have had a serious wake up call.

If a Russian junior officer has one then you can be sure some terrorists have some. If the terrorists get their hands on these, it will be impossible protect any high value target in public. Untraceable, line of sight, can kill a tank in 4km, what’s the point of an armoured car these days?
