“This is just an immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people in language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the ’30s.”
Assuming that is the root of it, is it true ? What language has the government used that is similar to what language used by Germany in the '30s ?
I think the Nazis maybe have been a bit worse than Lineker thinks:

Lol, how many times can you be wrong.

BBC says there would only ever be five programmes in a press release back in Aug 2022, no name on PH says it was six.

It's a really tough choice who to believe.

I think Gary Lineker is a hypocritical tt, but don’t really see why he should be suspended for expressing his distorted view of the world.

Mind you, I also think he should be replaced by new talent, because he’s an overpaid tt.
What's distorted about what he tweeted?
Well, for the hard of thinking, our governments policies are nothing like Germany in the 1930s.

Do you honestly think they are?!

Yes he did.

He has described the asylum policy thus: “An immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people in language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the 30s.”

It’s the language of government that’s the problem. Policies aren’t the issue, they’re never able to put any into force.

Policies are expressed in language.

What sort of linguistic gymnastics do you need to do to avoid the reality of the situation?

He literally said the language being used is not dissimilar. Not the policies.

What other language do you think he was referring to?

The filth the likes of Braverman comes out with presumably.

Unless calling what's happening an invasion is now official Government policy.

Your presumption. The tweet only mentions the policy.
