I get that you all hate Elon Musk. I don't really get why, and I assume it's a sort of mix of impotence and ego that makes you think he's nothing special, he got lucky, and you could do things better than him? That's what I assume anyway.

I think the exact opposite. I think people like Elon Musk are very rare. I don't care if he was created from a happy accident of opportunity, privilege and ability. He has a vision and he makes things happen, I like people like that.

I think what he is attempting with Twitter is genuinely exciting and good for everyone. I don't agree with the jilted Twitterati at The Guardian and their ilk...they have an agenda driven by sour grapes over what they see as a battle for their spiritual homeland. It's a bit tragic.
Try only tragic thing here is your weird decision to bless St Elon and ignore the evidence of your eyes and ears.

He’s not going to sleep with you.

He explained it pretty clearly at the Morgan Stanley conference yesterday.

He has spoken about it many times, you must have chosen not to hear it. Outline of everything here:

Can I please highlight this media bias again so you can consider it.

Guardian article does not mention that this Cyabra study was commissioned by Elon Musk.

Proof that the media have an agenda and are biased.

This Cyabra study wasn't commissioned by Musk - that one was published prior to October 2022, but the new study shown to the AP (who wrote that Guardian article) shows three batches of bots were created in April, October and November 2022, after the previous study.

But hey, API, $8 and blockchain will fix bots, won't it...

It's not clear that this latest report from Cyabra was comissioned by elno. Its the same company, using likely some of the same data, but it doesn't make it the same report. The fact that this has only just been published directly to AP indicates that this is a separate piece of analysis, likely a Cybara puff-piece to advertise their domain experience.

This report though is critical of elno, because it points out that these botnets are still there and have been active since before elno took over. So much for elnos attempts at fixing the 'bot' problem.

This has been a great thing to witness. Poetic.

Elon has exposed himself as being clueless and in a bubble of his own making.

Then (again) exposes himself as a bully, except that even more than the cave diver, the guy he's picking on turns out to be almost his saintly antithesis.

And he's such an active dhead. Other company owners would have just forwarded it to an HR bod or lackey to look into.

I'm just catching up on this having been quite busy the past couple of days. This defence/takedown is just brutal. laugh

The whole thing has been incredible. I wonder if this is "peak musk", or whether he can scale further heights of idiocy?

Yes, it's totally the icelandic chap that looks worse here, bothering an important man with something as trivial as employment status / contract breeches. Good job St Elon managed the situation in a professional and appropriate way, and put the young upstart back in his box. Share price to the moon!
There's no need to be silly.

I admire many aspects of Musk - his technical ability, vision, drive, ambition (and wealth!) - to name a few. However, his people skills, empathy and common sense seem very lacking at times.

If there were visible signs that Twitter was actually getting better, that might help improve many people's perception of him, but it really doesn't seem to be. Ignoring whether you agree or not with his changes to moderation policies and unbanning of a quite a few accounts, on a basic functional level, it's gotten worse since he took over.
There are a few 'nice' features, like seeing the reach of your tweets (or would be if it actually worked properly), but far too much basic functionality regularly breaks for no apparent reason and far more often than it used to.
Removing SMS authentication for non-paying users, for example, is a very backward step. It's not perfect, but it's a lot better than no MFA, which is what's going to be the case for many accounts. Pretty much every other platform manages to provide it at no cost.

I get that you worship Elon Musk. I don't really get why and I assume it's a mix of the fact that he's an apartheid emerald mine heir, and that he openly spouts views that you agree with such as not liking trans people, disabled people, left wing people. You love him because he's just as far right as you and he's building a platform that will show you more of what you want to see. That's what I assume anyway.

Elno has done some amazing things, but he's continuously shown himself to be fundamentally a stty person.

There seems to be some sort of weird attraction between sycophants and rich but stty people.

Much as I admire his engineering achievements, Twitter appears to be a clusterfk of his own making.

He shouldn't own it. He should be concentrating on getting Starship into orbital flight. Fireball "landings" are fun to watch, but not good business.

I have a sneaking suspicion he's managed to reinvent the N1 and is busy relearning all the same lessons. But maybe it'll all work in the end.

I don't hate Elon.
But to any sensible bystander not looking through rose tinted goggles he is a complete and utter bellend. From his paedo remarks to his inability to take any criticism, his poor treatment of employees, the list goes on. He does not come across as a decent human being. This poor treatment of this Icelandic chap just cements my opinion that he is a narcissistic man child with no professionalism or impulse control.

And to his accolades.... yes, his whole empire was built on daddy's ill gotten gains. And since then it's been built by the talent of people around him. Credit where it's due, Tesla and SpaceX moved the game forwards. But Tesla has hit a plateau and the cars aren't getting better while the market has caught up with them. His companies are over valued and I'd be more inclined to take a spread bet on their decline than invest.
