Track & trace nearly double the cost of crossrail?

Probably best to use Google in addition to Twitter for your news.https://fullfact.org/online/37bn-test-trace-spendi...
And what relevance does Crossrail have? As far as I'm aware, Crossrail wasn't a project spun up in an emergency to deal with an unprecedented (in modern times) pandemic.

The fact that whoever is creating this crap propaganda cannot even get "test & trace" correct, tells you all you need to know about the intellect of the people producing it, as well as the intended audience. Edited by Mandat on Saturday 14th May 19:10
This says the budget is £37b but not all spent yet. Don't know how accurate that is though.
Apparently Matt Hancock still has a few invoices to submit.

People will wonder wont they.
A 15 year project is 15 years of wages and digger hire etc so it does sound cheap.
Covid Telephone helpline (track and trace) and testing centres (some car park somewhere) whatever the staffing is a few months work.
And remember the army. They are already being paid.

People are being led by the nose to "wonder".A 15 year project is 15 years of wages and digger hire etc so it does sound cheap.

If only most people would actually think for more than 5secs about how two incomparable projects are being compared.

On the whole that actually is a much better idea than trusting Darren on Facebook. The 'MSM' is just a bunch of legacy outlets that have to conform to certain standards. Darren of Facebook doesn't have to do that, and so can be a lot more free and easy with the 'facts'.The meme is tosh and I'm sick of seeing it.
They didn't spend £37B.
Most of the money went on testing; a Luminos PCR machine is ~£250K and they bought hundreds of them. A PCR test is ~£25 and they did millions of them.
(FTAOD, IMNHO Boris is a lying sack of pus and the whole thing was (and still is) incredibly badly (and corruptly) handled.)
