Fuel additive instead of shell v power diesel
Discussion
Due to the price rise in fuel i decided to use 2 ehn chemical bought from hydra. £14 for 5 ltrs.
Just like shell v power, this additive helps in low engine noise, smoother running, slightly more economy but no noticeable performance surge.
Dosage is 1 ml to 1ltr. Using cheap Morrisons fuel.
Anyone else?

I stopped buying Shell V-Power diesel a long time ago due to the price. I buy the Cetane Booster in 5 litres and the cleaner in 1 litre. I just have a small container with it ready mixed and just put it in at the station. Stopped buying Morrisons diesel too due to contamination issues at our local station. Both vans sail through the MOT with no problems. I went through a stage many years ago of really analysing fuel costs with my vans and concluded Hydra Fuel additives were the way to go.

I've been using Hydra Fuels additives for many years now in my vans (both re-mapped) some well in excess of 120K plus miles.

Thanks. That's a good idea to buy hydra cleaner in 1 ltr and then mix with 5 ltr of 2 ehn . I stopped buying Shell V-Power diesel a long time ago due to the price. Which hydra cleaner are you using? Does it have the CBO lubricants too?
I use dpb 100.
Cetane booster, lubricant and cleaner all in one. The bottle even says ‘converts standard fuel to premium’
I have previously used just the cetane booster and the dpb100 does not feel any different in the car, but then I would not expect to ‘feel’ the cleaners.
Both the cetane booster and the dpb100 give a noticeably smoother idle in the diesel cars/vans I have tried them in.

Here's my supplies, the black container is the old Cetane Booster which I have been mixing with DPB 100. But the new lot I bought is the CEBO 5 litres not yet opened. I plan to mix the new CEBO with a small drop of DPB 100 and every now and then increase the dosage of DPB 100 for one shot.
Just to add I buy my vans new and run them for about 180K miles or if they start to look rough then buy another new one. So my philosophy is to treat them well with decent oil and fuel additives etc I get them re-mapped because they also run so much better as well.

Would you recommend 500ml DPB 100 in 5 ltrs of 2 EHN?Edited by BIRMA on Monday 16th May 11:31

Still works out a lot cheaper than premium diesel though, even before switching over completely to the additives I was buying 3 tanks full of supermarket diesel then one V-Power which probably didn't benefit the vehicle.
Good stuff. I’ve been reading up on the Archoil stuff and am going to buy a bottle when I’m back home. Car definitely is happier on super diesel and I want to avoid any inlet manifold buggerance if possible!
Costco is great and a good 7p a litre less than standard diesel elsewhere but I can’t justify driving an extra 60 miles to get it! (And spending at least £50 every time on random Costco crap when I go there!)

I have 2ehn 5 ltrs. And i wish to use cleaner too. Hee the query.
I was in the same place a while ago, I did one tank of dpb100 at cleaning strength then mixed the ehn with dpb in 2/3 to 1/3 strength until I used all the EHN. Now I just use dpb in a lower concentration.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
