We got this granite sink. Its anthracite black rather than deep black. It works very well against our shiny black nero granite worktop. We're very happy with it and doesnt scratch at all (so far). We have aluminium in utility room, and our prior kitchen sink was porcelain white. So we've had them all and honestly there seems to be pros and cons of each, but I think steel tends to look a bit more 'weathered' as it immediately gets all those fine scratches. The granite sink worked well for this new kitchen setup, but I'd quite easily consider steel or porcelain again next time.

Only had ours in for 6 weeks but so far so good. Certainly better than the stainless one in the last place which was scratched to st after 1 week

Do you live in a hard water area? If so, then water marks do show up easily so I'm always wiping the surface dry or getting out the Viakal.

Also, if spiders have a tendency to visit then you can't bloody well see them in the sink, lurking in the corners.

Got a black Schock composite quartz one, shows up anything that's on it but easy enough to clean.

Had one in the last house for several years. No problems at all.
In the present house mrs wanted stainless. I wanted same as last house. After 5 years she has started making noises about it and “thinking” of a change.

In our last house we installed a Franke black Fragranite (granite powder in resin 90/10) sink. After 4 years it still looked like new.

Our current house had a black sink ovf unknown make installed when we bought it. So sink now 6 years old & looks it; but we are in a hard water area.

After living without the dishwasher for the past 9 months i think the most important consideration on kitchen sink design is...

Engineer your life so you don't need to use it
