One of my favourite actors.

Back in 2004/05 I was stood in front of him queuing at passport control in Vancouver. I did a pathetic unsubtle double take recognising who it was - got a nod/wink and a growly, gravelly “hi” in return. Made my day.

RIP

Every time I watch it I can taste the blood on the butt of the pistol!

Truly epic.

Loved Goodfellas.

Not far from my house is a sandwich shop called Goodfillas next door to a fish and chip shop called The Codfather.

This certainly came as a shock.

Always played a good nutcase, amongst other things!

RIP Good fella.

I'm vaguely related to one of the people in Goodfellas. Jimmy the gent is a second cousin by marriage or something.

He played Harry Collins in Phoenix and Henry Hill in the more well known Goodfellas. Also enjoyed his part in Hannibal with Hopkins.

Ace actor, real shame to hear of him passing away.
No Escape. A favourite childhood film of mine.
I remember taping No Escape off Sky Movies and watching it far too much.

Sad news.

I'd also recommend the far less well-known Something Wild, in which he plays his smallish part brilliantly.
One of my favourite films.
Goodfellas is obviously another.

If any of you fancy a good read, this is the GQ article from a few years ago on the making of Goodfellas. One of my favourite films.

That’s brilliant. Goodfellas is my most watched film by far. Perfect attention to detail & cast. It’ll never get old.

RIP Ray. And thanks.
