New highway code vs roundabout?

Hi,
as cars now have to give priority at the junction to the pedestrians, should car leaving the roundabout to give priority to pedestrian too? My understanding is that roundabout is a junction too.

Yes it's on both entry and exit of a roundabout.

Thanks. So - as I am living very close to busy roundabout in London, how I could ask council/police to enforce this? Nothing changed since introducing new rules and I still have to wait all drivers exit/enter roundabout.

Interesting one TBF, IME good luck trying to get the Police/Council to do anything to help you. Create a stshow and then let the public reap the whirlwind is the usual approach by local/national Government.

The Highway Code wording for roundabouts is different to the wording for road junctions

Take extra care at junctions. You should

Right, so if the car approaches the roundabout fast, I have to wait (as a pedestrian) because he might choose my exit, right?

My take is...

For road junctions the car driver must stop if there is a pedestrian who may want to cross the road.

For roundabout junctions the car driver does not need to stop for pedestrians but whatever you do don't hit any pedestrians.

It’s all a p##s take. More of the pathetic idea that people can’t take responsibility for themselves. Why not keep it simple like it’s always been. Pedestrians wait for traffic to be clear before crossing etc. isn’t that surely the safest way rather than expecting cars etc to stop. Why take that chance.
Pedestrians, cyclists etc just get a grip and stop expecting everyone else to give way and allow you what you want to do. Abide by rules and shut up.
If I’m walking or n my bike I wait for traffic to clear before crossing and try to hinder traffic as least as possible seen as they’re faster than me.

Just move away from the roundabout to a safer crossing place.
