Such as?

Germany are doing Amber Heard style pledges.
.and delivering sweet fa.
Are they? This seems to suggest otherwise.

https://mobile.twitter.com/oleksiireznikov/status/...

Ukraine need modern long range mobile artillery. Germany is delivering some. The UK is delivering 60 year old reconditioned ex Belgium equipment which is inferior to that used by the Russians.
According to German media, (as of 23rd June) it seems nothing has as yet been delivered:

Pledging to deliver and actually delivering are 2 different things, delivering "sweet fa" seems quite apt.

Did the Germans ever deliver the 5000 pledged helmets?

The tweet is by Oleksii Reznikov details here.

I suspect as an official in the Ukrainian Defence Ministry he might know a bit about the situation.
I rather suspect the German media might know a bit about the situation as well.

I was a remainer. I don't think there should be a vote to rejoin for a generation (approx 25 years from the original vote).

Over that time it will transpire how global, EU and UK politics impact each region. If we had another referendum now, it would just be based on 'bks' again.

Anyone who mentions our new found sovereignty should take a running jump.....I have seen zero impact except I did get my new black passport through last month.......
Those black passports. A giant leap back to the 1970's. They make me shudder.

And I have to stand in fking queues. Again.

What's next? Nylon shirts and TB?

FFS....

I voted Remain because it was the only pragmatic choice, but now we've left I can't see us ever being let back in on the same terms. We've ceded power like total fking morons, noone's going to volunteer to give us some back.
I take a similar position. It's done, we would never get back in on the preferential terms we had for our membership, so I don't think we should be looking to revisit it.

It was a one-off decision that unfortunately is effectively irreversible.

What you said was 'the global south'. Which applies to Australia New Zealand but not India Pakistan or Nigeria.
The term 'global south' is not strictly geographical. It is more socio-economic and generally refers to countries' status within the global economic system - the 'developed/consuming' north and the 'developing/providing' south.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_North_and_G...

Australia and New Zealand are in the global north, while India, Pakistan and Nigeria are in the global south.

The UK is supplying a lot of decent gear. I'm not sure where you're getting your 'facts' from.

Probably better suited to the Ukraine thread though.

In fairness I was responding to another post. While we have provided some useful gear in terms of heavy and mobile artillery we have not. In fact we simply do not have any to provide.

We're sending MLRS and have sent lots of missiles. I think the UK is doing alright.

The UK has sent the most in terms of quantity and quality after the US.

Germany has sent it's best wishes. The artillery hasn't been sent yet.

ETA
And there are discrepancies on how many pieces have been pledged.

I don’t understand this attitude. If you don’t like this thread and/or find it boring the solution is obvious and very easy.

We are doing OK. The problem at the moment Ukraine needs heavy mobile artillery and the UK does not have any to offer. German does and has provided some.

The figures suggest Poland has sent the 2nd largest in terms of quantity and quality with the UK third.

I provided the post from a Ukrainian Ministry of Defence official which clearly states the Germans have provided modern howitzer. But what does he know compared to some bloke on the web.

The plan didnt work, if we'd got rid of the idiot in charge of the Tory party after the vote and put an Adult in charge then things would have been better.

Not from the figures I've seen, they've sent some artillery hit not sure that out weighs all the anti tank kit, airborne surveillance or drones we have sent.

As for the Ukrainian MoD tweet, these have been found to be inaccurate in the past, but if Twitter is your definite source of information go for it

I agree. Posters coming on to post how boring they think a thread is add nothing at all. Fecking eedjits.

It isn't about liking or not liking the thread.
It is almost as if the existing Brexit thread just wasn't sufficient for our needs.

Original thread: "Brexit - was it worth it?" ( Currently running at 3 volumes ).
Next: "If Britain rejoined the EU tomorrow..."
Next: "How about another EU referendum"

2 new Brexit threads in a week - which their content sits perfectly served in 1 thread.

Boring.

We should have a referendum to leave something else.

I propose gravity.

Or if that is too ambitious, a referendum to bring back chivalry.

19 of the 27 EU nations have replaced their national currencies with the euro. So if the UK would rejoin it would certainly not have to adopt the Euro.

Plus I'm certain to the vast majority of EU nations the UK are more than welcome to rejoin.

You're more confident than me on both those points.

Either way it's moot. Won't ever happen.
