I mean, Biden was going on about it yesterday, so it'll have been checked I guess wouldn't it. Wouldn't it?
This was your original post, pre edit.

The first three paras cast a crude innuendo that the story has been fabricated. Plain as day.

The final para is a sarky suggestion that in its enthusiasm to embrace and repeat the story, the WH readily and quickly swallowed a falsehood rather than research and expose it.

Since then it’s been weasel words from you.
They are two points in favour! Yes a bit sarky re Biden as who knows whether someone would actually check or not.

Paranoid interpretation.

I am sure you will continue to bluster. But your implication was crystal clear and trying to weasel out now does you no favours.

The weasel words? Maybe just weasel interpretation?

The story was initially 100% accepted. Myself and the WaPo pointed out it was single source with no corroboration. I was taking it from 100% to a 'hang on, this is single source' 70% [or something].

What's the counter-argument to that [that wasn't in the WaPo article]? - it's something like it's too big to have been made up ['who would make up a story like that'] and has been officially repeated ['Biden said it'].

At no stage did I say it was 'fake', yet this is what Byker implies ['also said it was fake'], which is not true, otherwise I would have said 'this is fake', which I didn't. Byker then goes on to say he didn't say I said it was fake - so choose who you think is being weaselly...

Maybe if I'd used confused instead of scratchchin - if that' it then I'll be clearer in my drawings and use sharper crayons next time when trying to express doubt to simpletons.

As expected, people who are miscarring or having an ectopic pregnancy are now struggling to access appropriate care - https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2022/07/16/a...

"...in Wisconsin, a woman bled for more than 10 days from an incomplete miscarriage after emergency room staff would not remove the fetal tissue amid a confusing legal landscape that has roiled obstetric care."

"Doctors in Texas — where since last September abortion has been illegal after the detection of fetal cardiac activity, around six weeks of pregnancy — report that pharmacists have begun questioning patients about miscarriage medications, suspecting they may be used instead for abortions."

Caitlin Bernard who was the doctor named as the one who performed the abortion on a 10-year-old rape survivor from Ohio has had to send a cease and desist to Indiana's Republican Attorney General, demanding he stop "making false and misleading statements" about her to the press.

Now has gone further and started legal proceedings for defamation after Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita went on Fox News and said that Bernard has a "history of failing to report" abortions to the state, as required by law.
In the lawsuit, Bernard's attorneys say that the doctor has no disciplinary history.

Circuit Judge William Pryor, is allowing Georgia’s 6-week abortion ban to go into effect:

“We vacate the injunction, reverse the judgment in favor of the abortionists, and remand with instructions to enter judgment in favor of the state officials.”
https://media.ca11.uscourts.gov/opinions/pub/files...

The ruling uses the term ‘abortionists’ nineteen times to refer to the plaintiff-appellees.

This is a judge who said in his confirmation hearing that Roe v Wade is “the worst abomination in the history of constitutional law”

We previously met Circuit Judge Pryor when Brett Kavanaugh lied to the Senate about working on his nomination.

Kansas has voted to protect abortion rights, huge turnout to vote No to the GOP amendment trying to remove the right, where the GOP have been heavily criticised for being misleading, fraught with misinformation and voter suppression tactics.

Polls had the No vote at 62% before the voting, at the moment it looks like 59% to 41% in favour of abortion in a GOP state.

Been watching ‘Under The Banner of Heaven’ on Prime for the last week. If that is an accurate depiction of the level of crazy that the religious fundamentalists go to in the US, and subsequent reading does not indicate otherwise, it shocked even me. The US I used to know and love seems a million miles away.

My already strong distaste for organised religion has been turned up to 11.

And its getting more popular by the day. It doesn't seem to be coming as much from Catholic or Anglican, but more from the evangelical, rattlesnake dancing, born again types.
Scientology is starting to look like the sensible ones rofl
