Does it get signed just by Grant or do the other 3 have to sign it as well? spin
I was only aware of another 2 names ?
If there is a third then it just goes to show that the very best people want to join the tories.
On the other hand it's been a great week for Grant Shapps he hasn't put a reported foot wrong. He may not have stepped outside his house all week but that's not the point.
In the event that Rishi is forced out of office by other spineless MP's who want to get rid of their leader a replacement must be able to take over.
There is a wealth of talent within the Tory party (just as there is in the Labour and Lib Dem parties). This pool of potential leaders will need to be narrowed down and Grant may well be the best replacement leader.
By staying out of trouble he may be best placed to be the man who saved the Tories.
Michael Green, Corinne Stockheath and Sebastian Fox. It must be true because the internet said so. He could hold all 4 major offices of state simultaneously, PM, Home & Foreign Sec and Chancellor. Think of the cost saving! hehe

52 no-confidence letters could be reached after the local elections in May. Or rather should be reached. The ego on this guy to think he can win?! beggars belief.

You always seem to know what’s right. What would you suggest the PM does? Seems to me he doesn’t particularly bring PM, but the position has its advantages. If you were him why would you throw in the towel - he clearly doesn’t care much for the prospects of his party.

'he clearly doesn’t care much for the prospects of his party' - exactly. Therefore he should clear off...he should have gone months ago. Not a single day goes by without a monumental screw up on his watch. Can even vet a honours list without thinking 'will any of these names dredge up bad press' .

Yes, but he has no interest in removing himself, and his party don’t have the collective minerals to do it either - because if they do they are largely doomed, and turkeys generally don’t vote for Christmas.

Jesus himself could come back from the dead to lead the Tory party into the next election and it wouldn't make much difference, they've still got to be held responsible for the last few years. Besides, the only change any new leader would make would make would be a swing to the right which would alienate even more of the electorate even if it might please the Party members.

Looks like Rishi's stance on the war on the motorist isn't going to be as popular as he'd hoped. Love the fact that they set out to prove something and tried to bury the report when it proved the opposite.

I think the key wording there is that is was a sample of people inside the LTN’s, and a majority liked them, which I’d say is entirely unsurprising
Wasn't that the whole purpose of them? To improve the quality of life for people who live in urban areas?

John Curtice has said it's 99% that the Conservatives lose the next election.

It does make me laugh any talk of changing the leader without any discussion of changing the policies. They've totally failed to recognise what matters to most people, and enacting policies to fix those, instead being fixated on Rwanda and boat people.

Not sure why it’s a question? What’s up for debate is how badly Labour* will fk things up?

We've had 14 years of the most incompetent and corrupt government ever and yet you're terrified of any change?

Oh, well if they were merely incompetent for the first 5 years and only corrupt for the last 9, I guess that makes it OK hehe;

Not sure they were incompetent either. I thought the coalition was okay.

The rot started to set in post the referendum in my opinion.
