Want a thread about a non-shoot-down incident from 2 years ago that no-one except you and a couple of last-word desperados care about? Please, for the love of the flying spaghetti monster, start one and argue to your hearts' content.

Some evidence that the US may have supplies ready to go asap after the vote.

Noel reports are on the optimistic side but not totally inaccurate.

The nutter squad have been busy with wrecking amendments, given how spineless this Speaker is I don't hold out much hope.

I don’t care about the thing two years ago

But a technical question - are AAMs fire and forget after lock, or can the pilot disengage them once launched?

It did come down very gracefully.

My understanding is Once fired it's away and running with no option to call it off.

Looks like oil refineries are back on the target list/ they've told the Americans to ram it.

They obviously have as much faith in the Speaker's ability to pass an aid package as I do.

Great news. Hopefully a message has been sent that we will only listen when you provide kit.

An opinion on Johnson's reverse regarding aid to Ukraine.
Partly religious, partly politics.

IR missiles (sidewinder) do their own thing. SARH (sparrow) need guidance.

Depends on the AAM involved I believe. No idea if a shorter range fire and forget infrared homing one like a sidewinder can be disabled but the beyond visual range ones that are radar guided one (even a fully active radar homing one as say a meteor), I'd have thought, can be as they would likely have mid course update datalinks.

Well it is Isaldiri and I’m yet to have seen a serious post in his many thousands.
It's troll feeding, we've been suckered. frown
I will firstly point out that you'll have seen my disagreement above with isaldiri re the engagement with the Rivet Joint.

So with that said, I will defend him here and say that he's absolutely not a troll in the slightest.

He has a different perspective from you, and yes, he argues that perspective doggedly, but that's not the same thing as being a troll.

Can we now have a 5 page sparring match about the need to be seriously intentional to be a troll? Please!

FWIW I agree with you overall, but arguing that you can fire a missile at something without seriously intending harm was just ludicrous IMO.

Shoigu inspects one of the Russian tank factories, while it's obvious the factories and tanks are not as advanced compared to what we, South Korea, America, France and Germany have it puts them in a big advantage compared to Ukraine.

Would be nice to see Ukraine get another large batch of Western made tanks but I have a sinking feeling that won't happen again.

New tanks or old T-72 tanks being upgraded?

Also what's the old light brown heap to the right of photo 2, something else dragged from a museum or plinth to be upgraded? Either way it's not the same as the others and odd to find a different vehicle on a tank production line.
