I don’t know, but seeing the photos of it on Facebook, it's easily in the hundreds.

I've seen reports of cameras being attacked, bags/boxes placed over them, cables cut, lenses painted, even being stolen.

The barriers for LTNs are also being damaged, removed, set on fire, etc. People are hiding or removing number plates to drive through cameras.
This is what will happen if laws and rules aren’t seen to be fair or reasonable..

On the continent cameras have been attacked on mass I believe in France till they were removed. I dint think damaging 3 or 4 will make a difference. 3 or 4 hundred maybe but I won't advocate people breaking the law. Rather direct action needs to be significantly greater to force change. Think industrial action poll tax non payment and riots.
They tried this with speed cameras in Western Australia.

The police just started watching/filming the cameras and charging those who attempted it.
In Ireland they just set fire to the mobile speed cameras with the operator still in it.

Presumably you don't have a problem with those who vandalise SUVs as it's for their (mistaken) cause?
Exactly that, it's odd that vandalism is fine if you agree with the cause behind it.

Although I would note there is one important difference. The SUV belongs to a person, who is not attempting to intefere with anyone else's life. The camera belongs to the government, which is trying to use it to interfere with people's lives.

So it's not a truly valid comparison.

Yes

You might as well complain they were vandalising the Berlin Wall in 1989.

I find it interesting that the news reports seen to describe the people destroying traffic barriers as anti democratic, thugs and vandals, whereas people glueing themselves to the road and causing hours of delays are protestors. They're both as bad as each other.
