Ia anyone else finding ITV Hub to be a total pain the arse? It freezes, keeps turning audio description on, sometimes I can turn it off, sometimes I can't. I've given up watching one series on there, it's not worth the hassle

Has it not moved to ITVX now, or is it the same thing?

Being in Scotland, I use STV Player and it works OK, although the number of adverts seems totally random.

Itvx is almost as big a pile of st as it. Hub was.

How it can be so much worse than iPlayer is beyond me

Yeah it's garbage and even when it does work the picture quality is atrocious for me.

ITVX is truly awful which is a shame as there is some really good stuff on it.

No problems with ITV X here.

My5, however is quite another matter. For months now, anything we try to watch on there gives us two adverts and then the “VJS 2010” error, which apparently means something’ wrong but they don’t know what.

Their extremely helpful “help” team seemed to have run out of ideas after ‘turn your router off and back on again’.

Plays mostly ok but absolutely hit and miss when trying to seek to a program you’ve part watched, or attempt to resume

My5 used to crash at the advert breaks. I don't get any adverts anymore.

I get the Bank of Scotland advert constantly. It gets annoying.

It’s ok if you don’t touch it. Don’t pause, rewind or forward for god’s sake!

I watch mine through fairly new firestick, probably helps as has decent memory buffering. I presume inbuilt tv apps have meagre memory.

Seems there are varied experiences. We watch it heaps . Almost every night. I think it's excellent. Works very well for us . I did find it's best to go to the leave itv hub part rather than just clicking it off. Then when it starts it loads up where we left off .

Have a look at, say Trustpilot, internet reviews. Universal opprobrium.

I had the recent misfortune to attempt to catch up with the latest Endeavor series. Accessed through a Samsung smart TV.
Search does not find an episode by name. Only portal is through the programme name leading to a list of all episodes oldest first. There is no list wrap so to find the latest one has to click through every <bleeped> older entry. All other catch up services I've used submenu by series.
And when one gets there 50% of the time there is no sound.

At least once found the programme appears in a Samsung menu of recent recordings allowing ready re-entry (snigger). Still random sound presence though.

Most of the TV streaming and catch up services has fault ridden apps. I do like Netflix, but the iPlayer is so much better than the usual TV channels.

BBC's websites are also so much better than ITV.
