Government Green Day - Gas Prices to increase

I went to view a show home on a new build estate the other week. Nice little village that a local developer is building in. I asked if the hob in the kitchen could be spec’d as gas. “Well in this one yes, but the next phase will all be off gas with heat pumps.” Will be interesting to see how that all works. Benefit is though the houses are decent size and come with a proper chimney breast and wood burner option!

Building Regs means gas can't be used on new builds after xxx.

"From 2025, gas boilers will be banned from all new builds"

"In addition to the 2025 goal, the Heat and Buildings Strategy also states that it's aiming to phase out the installation of natural gas boilers beyond 2035.

This means that if your boiler goes kaput after 2035, you’ll need to install a low-carbon alternative, rather than a new gas or oil boiler."
