I had many post rugby match baths with lots of other men.
If you've never experienced it, the baths were generally concrete squares lined with tiles, about 3 foot deep & 12 foot square.
A dozen or more blokes at once.
Beer or tea (in mugs) was an optional extra.

Robbie and I have history, he accused me of being pro prison rape once.

I told him a while ago that I wasn’t going to interact with him anymore as I couldn’t be bothered. He keeps trying to get my attention by posting st like above.

I noticed that email this morning but the reply email address is broken and I don’t think it was really him.

Been there, done that. It was not unlike this very short clip from the movie Trading Places,

I went to a posh grammar in the early 2000's and at 11 after PE everyone went to change back into their kit. I remember the teacher who was mid 40's came in and shouted "right, everyone in the shower, throw your towel in the middle" He literally stood and watched about 20 of us showering naked making sure every single one of us, it was fking sick. I still maintain it was for his own sexual gratification. I believe he got reported for aggressive behaviour a while after and is now retired.
We had one of those at school, he's recently been convicted of a range of child sex offences through the 80s and 90s. Reading back through the thread I wonder if that's why I hated communal changing as a child.

I don't have any issue with nudity now, I've been to nudist beaches and used shared saunas etc on the continent, but in an open changing room would always be discreet. It just seems a bit unnecessary parading about with your tackle out.
I played rugby at Schools level and had no issues changing and showering then but PE was different the whole set up gave me the creeps. A female friend of mine went to the same school and I brought it up at the weekend when we were talking about the Americanised type of culture at the school, jock, nerd, etc. She reckoned all the subcultures had merged and the main ones now were basically all the gender types.

She said that her PE teacher was a lesbian and and claims she used to participate in the gymnastics and net ball and then stripped off to shower with them which she said creeped her out. So it seems to sick culture wasn't just reserved for the boys.

I think in the UK especially the prudish nature is due to what went on in the 70's and 80's, nudity seems to be associated with sex and dirty. On the continent nudity is just seen as nudity.

I can vividly remember playing beach volleyball at a hotel in Portugal must have been about 13/14 and all the foreign women playing were topless, hurling themselves around.

My wife went to a (not posh) private school where the female PE teacher would make them all line up so that she could check they all had name tags inside their PE knickers!

I suppose with designated nude place like beaches there is an implicit contract there, you are expected to be naked, like in Sainsburys you are expected to be clothed.

Changing rooms are sort of in-between, its functional and the contract is basically you will probably see nudity, but should just be the transition between one type of clothing and another.

I am pretty discreet in changing rooms, though not overly prudish, just keep the time to a minimum when changing and if moving to the showers, wear a towel, its pretty simple. The showers dont have doors but you face in by and large.

That said, I do like being naked, have use of a private pool and its much nicer swimming naked, only trouble its quite near the flightpath for Manchester Airport, swear I must have flashed planes full of holidaymakers, my wife says its fine as she can barely see anything at 10 feet, so someone on a Ryanair 737 accelerating to 200 odd knots ascending rapidly wont either !

Hi Zedleg,

yes. It was I who messaged you. A little annoyed that a 'private' email has been posted for all and sundry, but no biggie. If I could ask that you please remove it from your post though?

RE 'Robbie and I have history, he accused me of being pro prison rape once.' I trust that this is aimed at RobbieTT, as such stuff would never come from me.

The reason for the unavailable email is that some bd of an SEO provider recently held our email addresses to ransom. The only way to end dealings with him was to add a - in to the company name element of the address.

Well I had no way to reply, bit odd that you'd send that while still posting st about me in the forum. How about this, you stay out of my way and I'll stay out of yours.

I've deleted my post, can't delete the quote obvs.

Oh wait, just reread the comment and you're not that Robbie. You're the Robby from the old evo forum?

My contribution to the nudity issue is simply an observation about when I went hiking in Morocco a few years ago. On the first night out on the trail to guide showed us that the 3 places we would be staying for the week in would all have a hammam which was a cross between a small communal shower and a sauna. Rather basic but in each case they did the job. I was with 2 other 40/50 something guys and one asked the guide what we wore. He said that normally people would be naked but it was up to us. We rather sheepishly decided that we would go naked and after the first night we wondered why we'd ever asked. Just seemed like the obvious thing to do and with no booze available, relaxing in the hammam each evening and having a laugh about the day and telling each other about our lives (none of us knew each other) was an absolute highlight of the trip. Perhaps it would have been just as much fun with trunks on but who cares either way?

Ah right yeah, there's no grudge from my end. If I'm being honest I had no idea who you were until I looked at your profile. Whatever beef you thought was there, consider it gone.

As I posted before, I went to state secondary school in the mid 60s and the boys all had to shower communally, but apparently the girls had shower cubicles. The school was built in the early 60's so that shows what the custom was at the time.

Interestingly, our local pool has changing rooms that are literally small rooms for each person/family...

Haven't been swimming with a good while I remember the new swimming baths I attended in the 90's had mixed changing rooms. Very different to the ones I went to which had mens and women's and lots of cubicles and people dropped their drawers with a towel around them. Morning session which was mostly attended by mature women who had no issues strutting around with everything out.

Then I remember being on the Continent as a kid, can't remember if it was France or Spain at a waterpark but it had mixed changing. Men and women standing completely naked having conversations in the showers but then I think nudity is a lot more accepted there.

Shows and toilets at the new centerparcs accommodation at Disney Paris, has a toilet area completely open with no cubicle doors.

You had to get in early as the water slowly became a pool of dilute mud from many knees!
If you were lucky you got to use some of the soap - a brown square lump of dubious origin & a sort of animal fat odour....

I remember swimming in a pool in the US. My 4yo (g) and 2yo (b) had both been in the water. My wife towelled them off, whipped off their costumes and dressed them in dry clothes. They were naked for a maximum of 30 seconds. There were shocked gasps from other people around the pool. I thought the reaction rather prudish.

Perhaps we were being too European. When I lived in Germany, the local swimming baths had a naked Thursday (IIRC). Saunas were naked - in fact you'd be thrown out for wearing trunks. I recall swimming in the hotel pool and noticing that an 80 yo woman was casually leaning on the balcony stark naked.
