If he were to be involved in some sort of “accident” then all this would go away.
I hope he isn’t planning any trips by private jet in the near future.

As Denis Leary quipped, Stevie Ray Vaughn died in an aviation accident and we can't even get Bon Jovi IN a fkin helicopter.... I'm afraid people like Boris have inordinately long lives as they are part of the trick God is playing on us as we figure out how to play the cards he dealt us....

This difficulty accessing his phone is baloney. Give it to GCHQ, job done in an afternoon.
I think it might have been in one of the BBC Forensics documentaries recently where they showed how a laptop could be unlocked by connecting it to a device that simply tries millions of random passwords until it gets the right one. I think in the example they showed it was up to 83million efforts when it got there. Or was it 83billion?

I thought the issue was that it only allowed 3 attempts before it locks itself out. Or are we saying that the data would still be intact inside and they should be able to break it with tech?

Yeah, IIRC it'll stop you guessing temporarily after a few goes, then it ramps up the temporary lock out time before permanently locking itself and even wiping it if the option's enabled.

There have been exploits to bypass that mechanism and allow the suggested brute force attempts, but as far as I know they've all been patched, there's nothing public. An exploit for it would be worth an awful lot of money and GCHQ, if they have the necessary (probably multiple chained exploits) would have to think very carefully about using it and potentially burning it on something like this. I'd imagine they have higher priorities with ongoing threats to life.

I read somewhere that mossad broke iPhone encryption including WhatsApp password, backup & so forth in an afternoon.
I wonder what the next Boris saga will bring?? I just wish he would simply disappear.....

There remain workarounds, but they aren't especially pretty and usually involve the phone being returned as a plastic bag full of components rather than a functional device. Still without guaranteeing success.

Baroness Owen of Alderley Edge, of Alderley Edge in the County of Cheshire took her seat in the House of Lords yesterday, the swamp really does need the plug yanking….

So is her Dad really the subject of this thread? She is 30 and was SPAD for a few departments and now has a guaranteed life time income. Seems an awfully generous reward for little work. Why not MBE or such like

That is the rumour and a highly plausible one at that.

Just for the sake of argument if this was true. Would BJ be able to be charged with any offence? Misconduct in a public office? If itt came with prison time would he actually be able to do a custodial sentence due to security concerns?

SD.

I doubt it, can’t see how that could be misconduct, he’s morally bankrupt but that’s not a chargeable offence. Remember he was pushing for his dad to get a peerage, so no there are zero limits where Boris is concerned. The whole SPADS thing is quite bizarre in Westminster, they surround themselves with bright young things (Truss had a group of mid 20’s graduates in tow while allegedly shagging Kwasi) who are used as attack dogs on civil servants, it’s like the last days of the Roman Empire.

Let's not forget the public money he threw as Jennifer Acuri while he was playing hide the sausage with her. That was clearly corrupt, but BJ got away with it.

The British electorate is astonishingly quick to move on with its attention span!
And other such fantasies.

People still remember Johnson as well as Truss..their legacies will love for a while in the public consciousness. They aren't good legacies but legacies none the less.

You desperately want Johnson to be forgotten, but it's not happening.
I've been away for a bit. 15 days since the above squabble was posted. In that time, this thread moved forward... one page by my count. Mostly on 12 + 13 July.

The Trump thread moved 8 pages in the same time. Huh.

If I had points to hand out, it would be 15-0 to Deej. Sorry Captain. Guess people really did move on.

You of course have the average page movements of the entire forum? Thought not.

I don't think so. No one has forgotten about Boris, it's just that Trump has been even busier, so it's game, set, match to me.

Boris fans desperately want us to forget him, but we won't forget the corruption and utter omnishambles that was his government.
