My thoughts are, bearing in mind he is divorced with a couple of kids to fund:
1) Does he have enough wedge to never have to work again? He wasn't that successful an actor so I doubt he has millions in the bank (happy to stand corrected)
2) If not, what does he expect to do now as gainful employment? Is this a grift to somehow align himself as some sort of saviour of free speech which he then goes on to monetise?
He just strikes me as an absolute tool.
I think its a little more insidious than that though. Social media and the instant dopamine hit that it provides can be a very addictive drug. You spout some stuff on a badly watched TV program and end up with thousands of posts from random people saying that you are right. That must work, right? Keep spouting the stuff and maybe the engagement drops, so you end up being more and more extreme. The problem is that some people get distorted views of what is actually happening and who is supporting them. Once you start the grift, you are on the train and it isnt stopping. Some people figure it out, but for a lot of others who are maybe a little 'vulnerable', its an addictive game. 1) Does he have enough wedge to never have to work again? And of course, should you actually get any consequences from your actions, just claim its the 'deep state' or other shadowy figures and continue the grift. Rinse and repeat.
Strikes me as an (un?) fortunate series of events. Fox is clearly eager to generate news about himself that isn't about his mistakes and makes him look aligned to people's interests and the Met are no doubt extremely eager to find someone to arrest regarding the ongoing ULEZ camera fiasco. Both parties are able to achieve their aims today it seems! Happy times for all.
Good for him, say what you want, that's what we've always been allowed to do until around late 90s early 2000s, and things are far far worse for it. Don't have to like the man, but people defending what is going on here really need to dig deep and ask the question "what actual harm has he done, not what the government have told you about what harm he could have done".

He's not a successful actor at all. Mainly because he's st, but likely in part due to being an insufferable tt.
He's just capitalising on the same thing all the 'anti-woke' people are doing. Middle aged and retired gammon folk sending him money either by donation or by reading/watching/hearing his stuff enough to have him employed by the likes of Gbeebies (well, until now). I'm amazed there's not a fund on here for him cause the demographics would suggest he'd have a market.
Grifting has become so very easy it's surprising there aren't more doing it.
Can you give us some examples of successful actors as your standards do seem quite high...He's just capitalising on the same thing all the 'anti-woke' people are doing. Another one cancelled over one incident.
In that case I believe the sequence of events was a rebroadcast of the IT crowd episode in 2013 where the Boss has a relationship with a Transgender woman. This then provoked a Twitter backlash and Linehan was responding to some of the comments. He also was cancelled at that point and if you look at his work history essentially never worked again after 2013.
Looks like he is starting to get his life back on track and has some healthy pre-orders for his biography. Another one who lacked the wisdom to keep his head down and bow to the prevailing ideology of the day.
If I remember correctly that was the same episode where "the Internet" got destroyed as a result of the fist fight. Brilliant episode. In that case I believe the sequence of events was a rebroadcast of the IT crowd episode in 2013 where the Boss has a relationship with a Transgender woman. I'm not sure of the entire history of the incident, but why would that blow up in 2013 on a repeat viewing and not in 2008 when originally aired?
Perhaps in 2013 he should've just let sleeping dogs lie.

That’s not quite what happened.
But its a bit OT so won’t continue with it.
Given Fox was tweeting about £10,000 being donated and put "behind the bar" at a hardware shop for people to collect angle grinders and other tools for destroying ULEZ cameras and he was freely advertising as brokering the connection between would be Bladerunners and said shop and fund I'd say he was pretty neck deep in do do with regard to conspiracy to commit criminal damage and not at all supprised he's had his collar felt.

No worries. I only know what I've heard and that's just bits and bobs. GL's wikipedia page mentions it but doesn't go into any great detail. And I haven't got the time or inclination to look further into it. That’s not quite what happened.
