Back at the trial, Todd Blanche is trying to argue that trump’s payments to Cohen, totaling $420,000, couldn’t possibly be payback for the Stormy Daniels settlement. He was actually paying for legal services - which is trumps latest claim he's trying.

However, they have the tweet from trump dated on 3 May 2018, where trump admitted he repaid Cohen for the Daniels settlement, when he claimed it wasn't campaign money, thus undermining that whole argument

“Mr. Cohen an attorney received a monthly retainer not from the campaign and having nothing to do with the campaign from which he entered into through reimbursement a private contract between two parties known as a non-disclosure agreement or NDA.”

Blanche is also trying to paint Cohen as the convicted felon, ignoring he was sent to jail for doing trumps dirty work, where trump was named as a co-conspirator, but Barr got them to drop trumps prosecution.

They're painting Cohen as an unreliable liar. Except there's taped conversations.

Edit: trump claimed protestors were being stopped from attending but that was quickly shown as false.

Also trump has no family with him to support him, so Maggie Habberman claimed thats why he wanted his supporters there
