Mitt Romney
Romney: I think everybody has made their own assessment of trump's character, and so far as I know you don't pay someone $130,000 not to have sex with you.

Anybody watch the documentary on CBS America, c84, Democracy on Trial? Everything laid out in the runup to Jan 6th. All the players, sycophants, blowing smoke up trumps arse, leading to his attempt to steal the election. Shocking when it's all laid out in front of you chronologically! Part 2 tomorrow 21.45. Interesting watch!
Yes, good documentary. For those who missed it, both parts are repeated on Sunday evening 9:45 on ch84 freeview.

But Moscow Mitch is trying to claim it was Tucker Carlsons fault it was delayed by the GOP?
Mitch McConnell: "I think the demonization of Ukraine began by Tucker Carlson, who in my opinion ended up where he should've been all along, which is interviewing Vladimir Putin"

Indicative of US politics at the moment? In it purely for personal profit

I was just saying to myself - 'how on earth did this outright fraudster get anywhere near The House?' and other such sentiments. What sort of opposition did he have where he got away with so much outright fraiud, misrepresentation and 'walter mitty' like behaviour? That led me to questioning the US system again and then I remembered this chap:

A Guardian article so no paywall - https://www.theguardian.com/politics/shortcuts/201...

Now whilst that is 9 years old so one could argue 'fish wrapper,' it should be remembered that his past did follow him around for a while but has never actually seemingly, stuck on him! Teflon shoulders? Or much ado about nothing? This all seems to predate the 'all Tories are awful' of very recent years but still, the various articles dont read very well:

https://www.newstatesman.com/politics/2015/03/eigh...

https://www.channel4.com/news/by/michael-crick/blo...

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/mar/15/g...

etc etc

An 'interesting character'?

ps - Although not quite in the George Santos league!

Quite a bit coming out whilst trump trial is attracting the most attention. This was the bit that got me, openly planning on having trump loyalists all over poling stations, handling the ballots, acting as watchers.

Because that worked so well last time they want to try again but better? They plan to somehow circumvent the election laws using trump loyal officials, or just bluff?

Unofficial results shows trump struggling again, with Hayley attracting a huge protest vote against trump and she's not running

GOP have a real problem

Edit: Overall

Also notable.
This was a closed primary where over 130k registered Republicans cast a vote for Nikki Haley who has dropped out.

Do they want to interrupt and invalidate the voting processes so that it goes to the state legislature to decide (which co-incidentally is stuffed with GOP people) to subvert democracy?

It would be odd if they didn't.

He won't see the inside of a normal jail though. He's not a risk, so could be held on a military base or similar. Just confine him to a couple of rooms with a locked door and a guard.

The White House is a military base.
Bill Clinton called it “the crown jewel of the federal penitentiary system.”

I think one room and a mirror would suffice.

Exactly, this is staggering evidence that the appetite for MAGA and Trump is fading rapidly. Add to that all the reds switching to blues in elections.

But the RNC has been taken over so they won't switch strategy. It's going to be a wipeout

There is no way they will jail a preidential candidate. If he cops for some of the felonies he'll get a fine.

Whatever the veridct, he'll appeal anyway.

Not straight away? Pending Appeal because trump?
But he would be a convicted criminal, that should stop anyone getting security clearance...

When you watch the actual clip of Lara, she is effectively saying:

"Oh no, we have better than that - we havent bothered with Poll Watchers to ensure a fair result, we have gone all in and placed our guys inside, actually counting and proving the votes themselves' - there is no way that is an innocent move and won't be used for nefarious purposes....

No way, sirreeee.

If this was a thrid world, we would be amazed. The fact that it is the USA, beggars belief.

trump was posting at 2am

The usual
"Rigged Judge who is working for the Democrat Party", should be immediately removed, and claims Engoran should also be removed.
Claims he did nothing wrong, again defamed EJC, claiming he never met her

Again claimed political interference by "This New York Cabal, run by Crooked Joe Biden’s White House" and finished with "REPUBLICANS IN WASHINGTON MUST TAKE ACTION!"

I dunno. I'd add a bell and some Trill as well. Fair's fair.
