Another clip of Russian TV praising Marge
“Greene is a real beauty. She is a blond who wears white coats with a fur collar. She’s demonstrably heterosexual.”

So specsavers aren’t trading in Moscow then.
To be fair, MTG doesn't *actually* look like Les Dawson, and I'd guess that's the comparative baseline the Russian TV commentators are using.

This is a rather serious and possibly a sinister potential escalation? Or an attempt to? How can anybody think 'allowing' Trump to 'attack' the jurors, lawyers and court staff strengthens his case? In the big scheme of things, all he is doing is appealing to the mob and his dwindling support? Does anyone with a sane cell in their body think that jurors will be swayed by his rants when they've been in court listening to the actual facts and arguments?

He really is a moron - I know we 'all' know and appreciate the above, but I find it helps me to type out - call it a form of therapy and ensuring I never get called for Jury service in a Trump case.....

He does seem very worried!! (Or as others have said, he is soo used to getting his won way that this could just be frustration and his attempts to 'bully' the courts and system into allowing him to have his way? He does have form, so to speak.)
his logic goes something like:
I'm going to do the best thing for me
My enemies will try to stop me or punish me because they're jealous of me
They'll use anything they can to stop me, even if its totally unfair
How do I stop this happening (hence all the appeals etc)
I could fix this if I could make sure the jurors are persuaded to see my side
Im being prevented from doing that - waaahhh toys out of pram.

He won't see himself as an attacker of woman ("they all love me" he has previously said), fraudster ("great business deals"), criminal ("corrupt joe biden is behind this"), or an insurrectionist ("I was doing my job as POTUS, therefore immune").

Meantime, TS backer is now apparently flogging sex pills:

Maybe an attempt to keep trump's attention up in more ways than one

WP have done an analysis of trumps TS posts and says it shows trump increasingly 'isolated, vitriolic, vengeful', reposting bogus 2020 election conspiracy theories. and content from right-wing media websites. Anything in fact that will praise him

Article on trumps trial putting the spotlight of intimidation of women, not just trumps attempts to intimidate and threaten jurors
https://19thnews.org/2024/04/trump-hush-money-tria...

trump cannot handle strong, powerful women taking him on, many claim issues left over from his mother, hence his attacks against Pelosi, AG Willis, Judge Merchans daughter. It's why he makes up names, calls them 'nasty' women, his attempt to take back control.

Its also others doing theor best to help trumps intimidation, Fox News host Jesse Watters highlighted each selected juror on air and shared publicly known information about them, including general information they had shared about where they lived and worked. leading two to be released because they feared threats.

Well he's right about the two-tiered system of justice, probably not in the way he is saying though.
Trial should be starting soon. party

Really hope that git gets chosen for jury service at, say, a mob-related trial.

I remembered I had a different ID on my tablet v phone, so can continue to goad the Demented SHOUTY Tangerine Turd biggrin

I note that in a little light scrolling on his rant about “REMOVE THE GAG ORDER!!! WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO HIDE???”, around ? to ¾ of replies now seem to be vehemently ANTI-Trump:

Quite the turnaround from when I first signed up to take a look, where it felt that every single response was a MAGACult nutter fawning over his word salad.

I wonder if TeamTrump are noticing this, and banning people.

Now noted in the main stream media as well. Well he had about 20 supporters outside briefly last week.

And of course, his porn star trial will capture the media but the real things to look out for are AG James’ bid to have Knight Specialty Insurance disqualified for providing trump’s appeal bond and Scotus review of trump’s presidential immunity claim.

Do we think Scotus might try to sneak something through to help trump whilst attention is on the more salacious trial?

Another has expressed worries about jury intimidation

JudgeMerchan and the parties disappeared for several minutes to speak with Juror #9.
According to Merchan, the juror expressed concerns on Friday regarding media attention in the case.
When they returned, Merchan says that Juror 9 will stay with us for trial.

Bad news for trump as well

Judge Merchan has ruled on the Sandoval hearing held on Friday, over what the prosecution can ask trump 'IF' he etstifies

Defence didn't want trump asked about "prior bad acts".

Merchan says that he will allow the prosecution to question trump about several prior acts if he chooses to testify. They include:

1 The last civil fraud case against trump others presided over by Judge Arthur Engoron, where he was found guilty of massive business fraud
2 The two instances in the case presided over by Judge Engoron in which trump was held to have violated court’s gag order
3 the two cases where trump being held liable for defaming E. Jean Carroll, and probably trumps rhetoric and threats during that
4 trump’s stipulated dissolution of the Trump organization to resolve claims by the NY AG. I think this is the trump foundation fraud - £2m fine, dissolved etc
https://ag.ny.gov/press-release/2019/ag-james-secu...

So no way trumps lawyers will allow him to testify. It'll introduce lots of prior cases of trump guilt to the jury

Of course he thinks people believe it.

He (almost) believes it himself!

Funny how the schwab account being used only just about has enough in it......

The company only has $138m behind it. trumps claiming it's backed with $175m.

Then Kise is trying to get the bond accepted saying that even if the bond falls through, there's a sold backup for collecting on the judgment:

“There's hundreds of millions of dollars worth of real estate that the defendants own right here in the city that could be seized with the stroke of your pen". Except trump has it morgaged to the hilt

Trumpo (and those that support him) have short, faulty memories.

For someone who 'picks the best people' (in his administration, for example) how come so many of them are now saying 'do not elect this man!' secondly, for someone who highly favours NDAs, (i.e. the ability to use a legal process to prevent soe people speaking publicly) how is it that he cannot see the use of a legal procedure to stop him speaking publicly?

Kise is now complaining "It appears no matter what we do, they’re going to find fault with it... trump effectively wrote a check for $175M and put it in an account. It’s not going anywhere”

Weird because the bond CEO claimed it was cash, then cash and stocks, then secure collateral, basically kept changing the story

AG lawyer Andrew Amer is up. He says the problem with the Schwab collateral is that "while the funds are cash today, under the terms of the pledge agreement and control agreement they can be swapped out for less secure collateral like mutual funds."

team trump are trying to back trumps claim he has put up $175m in cash to back the bond, which he wouldn't then need and wouldn't need to pay fees...

Lets hope the judge asks to see proof. Many people pointing out they donthave the cash to back this up, that’s why the provision to switch to mutual funds was added. That was always going to be the plan, pivot at the last minute when this appeal was lost just so N.Y. couldn’t collect for years.

If trump puts securities in then he'll have to capital gains tax, so it'll have to be backed up to cover that as well?

So agreement reaced. Kise says they'll agree to maintain the Schwab account in cash and give Knight exclusive control of the account. Under a previous agreement, it was a trump trust shared control.

So trump has to stump up the cash, prove it's there and not have any chance of moving it out like he was planning to...
