Reading the articles, it certainly doesn't seem that the prosecution lawyers are all having it their own way though? Yes, Trumps lawyers are being grilled, but so are the prosecution.

I don't think it's really clear cut which way they're leaning yet? As much as I want them to rule against Trump. I do feel it's going to a bit of a nothing ruling eventually, with no clear 'winner'?

Dont knock it... The victim mentality for some is off the scale. The idea that there is some sort of liberal elite pulling all of the strings is real and Biden is just one part of this vast conspiracy.

The one I heard the other day was that "Wall street is controlled by the left and they have been manipulating the market to hit Trump Media stock with short selling", The way they can just flip from one to the other makes my jaw drop sometimes. So the idea that this is all a setup is real. And yes, I read that someone really believed that the stollen intelligence file were planted during the 'raid'.

Shame that some of the detailed reports around the event reveal something totally different. But hey, you can almost always find a path back to some grifter who is trying to make money somewhere.
I fully agree.
The Maga "conservative" radio station I sometimes put on during my commute said the other day that Biden was behind the documents "being at mar a lago". They didn't expand on how, though.

Some interesting thoughts from Glenn Kirschner here:

tl;dw - if Trump is found to have been in criminal contempt of court in the NY case, regardless of whether he gets a slap on the wrist from the NY judge, the thought is that he will also been in violation of his release conditions on his other trials, for example the DC case conditions stating explicitly that should Trump commit any state, federal or local crime whilst on release pending trial, an arrest warrant may be issued, his released conditions revoked and he may be held pending the actual trial...and he'd be facing another contempt charge, this time in DC. Whether the argument holds water or not, I don't know, but it would be nice to think his NY contempt of court actually explodes into a massive chain-reaction of manure raining down on him from all of the other cases.

Would I be correct to assume you do not care for Donald ?

Just a random thought.
I find the whole thing fascinating, we are living through History and I've said that since early 2016...and many times since. Not just trump but the whole rotten Republican party.

The fact that the ultimate conman and criminal can make it to be potus, backed by a party prepared to accept anything for power, power at any cost. Then turn the blind eye as he sues the position for personal rpofit, then stages a violent attack in trying to stay in power, was prepared to dismantle the US postal service to stop mail in votes against him, fake electors, attempted martial law etc.

Then they spend their entire time in power tryign to manufacture dirt against the current president, because trump wants retaliation for being held to account, and because they want to be back in power, want trump back, possible because many need pardons for their part in trying the 2020 election stealing and trumps insurrection day.

I amazed that some find that trump has qualities they find appealing, sexual assault, rape, numerous case of fraud, ethics violations, selling US policy and probably secrets for personal profit. A man who cheats at golf, has cheated multiple times on all three of his wives, is a multiple bankrupt, has cheated numerous people out of their money and refused to pay bills.

All the very worse qualities, yet somehow this is appealing to some.
The most protected criminal, impeached twice and protected by the GOP that needed him, indicted 4 times, multiple felonies, yet still they want him as potus. Money and power has completely corrupted US politics.

Tell me why that isn't fascinating. Again, we are living thought history right now.

My money is on them giving immunity to “presidential acts”

And letting everyone else argue what is a presidential act and what’s a personal act.

Also why is trump meeting with construction workers in New York City? Are these more of trumps faked stooges, because trump saids every business has fled New York because he'd been prosecuted.
so he can tell the story where big strong men came up to him crying, shaking his hand and saying "thankyou sir for saving our country/city/industry/jobs" as they wiped the tears from their eyes

Defence went first - hence most came out then. Prosecution were up second.

Thomas is on the bench, despite his wife being involved in trumps election stealing attempts, ACB and Kavanaugh are doing their best. Alito looks to be on trumps side but Dreeben is calling him out

It amazing and sad hearing the oral arguments live, just hope they shoot down total immunity. Biden should be there in person if president has total immunity he could disband all judges. My problem is that a president does have immunity therefore they need to look at each decision and have a judge decided if each decision isnt part of a president duty then Orange man will appeal each decision and it will be 10 years before it's all finished.

There is nothing novel in that idea. I have been saying for ages that he is almost certainly in breach of his bail conditions and should be held in pre-trial detention.

Yeah thats my guess too, leaving the cases in the lower court to argue over what is/isn't a presidential act.

Someone should ask SCOTUS how they feel about a President being able to assassinate them and have immunity for doing so if they see fit.

Edit: Fed court turns down trump's request for a new trial over the defamation cases, at least in part due to his antics https://www.rawstory.com/trump-e-jean-carroll-2667...

Immunity hearing - frankly,. the absolute state of it "U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito complained Thursday about the concept that a "special" former officeholder like Donald Trump could be expected to be "subject to the criminal laws just like anybody else."

https://www.rawstory.com/samual-alito-trump-specia...

How can he actually claim to be objective in any shape for form on the matter....

SCOTUS will fudge a ruling. They can't go in either direction on it.

Any ruling also applies to Biden....

Excellent news. That's a great combination, I have huge respect for Katty and if he's anything like he was on Leading, then Mooch is just gonna tell it like it is, and then some!
