He can't refuse to accept a judgement and has no power send people to jail on a whim. If he could do what he pleased as President then he would still be in the Whitehouse and Hillary Clinton would be in Jail.
That was then and this is now. He hadn’t lost then and thought he was untouchable. Now he knows he’s not.
Let's say trump wins, and goes full despot.

Do you think there won't be a reaction to that? Even when he was in office, he was impeached. Twice. There arent enough magaloons in power to protect him.

Declaring something is one thing, enforcing it is another.

If trump does go "full despot" mode, it would trigger a state level response.

There will be a reaction. Probably a civil war and that destabilises the World.

More realistically it just do for,s that there are no consequences for anything he does. He might have been impeached twice, what was the outcome of that? Consequences? Zero. Republicans in the House will do whatever he says. Anyone who opposes him will be in serious danger.

trumps lost another hotel, rebranded without his name. The 14-year-old Trump International Hotel Waikiki is being rebranded as Wakea Waikiki Beach

GOP gerrymandered map in Louisianna has been found to unlawful. A Judges panel has ordered new voting maps because the GOP-controlled legislature has been found to have violated the Voting Rights Act when it drew new maps based on 2020 census data.

Even now people are still suggesting that a sitting president cannot be indicted and that a sitting president can pardon himself. Neither have been tested and I do not believe for one second that either are possible. Sure, he could try but I suspect it would be ruled illegal by the courts. Similarly, if an indictment was brought against a sitting president I suspect it would succeed.

If either case were actually possible then there is nothing, absolutely nothing, stopping Biden walking into Magalago and shooting him tomorrow. Job done. Yes, there may be some fall-out but isn't that just playing by the rules that the GOP think exist?

The true story of trumps withdrawal from Afgahistan is incredible, for how it really has nothing to do with him, it was driven by McEntee, the ex production assistant from Fox News, who been instrumental in outing those he felt weren't as devoted to trump as he was.

https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2023/11/the-inside...

Remember Trump boasted he did this and there was nothing Biden could do to stop it.

I appreciate your concern.

This would be where the 2nd amendment serves its intended purpose. Lots of Dems on non MAGA loons have guns too.

A further irony would be the claimed protections the proud boys et al used as defenses in their various court cases might actually apply in the event of trump running wild biggrin

And the consequences of this will be? My money is on zero. Ironic given what they’ve gone after Hunter Biden for, but Trump will walk away unscathed.

There's no point in adding something as silly as that to the near-100 current indictments.

Just because the GOP want to drive petty prosecutions, doesn't mean the actual law enforcement agencies should.

So much for the law being the law and it must be applied equally to all as CGT2 was saying previously, whilst explaining that’s why Trump will definitely face justice.

It's not absolute.
There's also likely to be other dozens of minor petty ste that trump could be charged with also.

But the whole "trying to usurp a country" thing takes prevendence, just a skoosh.

Just because trumps "being let get away" with random petty ste doesn't mean he's not going to fave justice for that which he is charged with.

The wheels of justice move very slowly. But they grind exceedingly fine. Case in point, he's already convicted on a couple of things. He can delay. But that's all

And yet the only trials he’s faced are for arguably “minor petty ste” which have been civil actions, the criminal matters remain as charges and as you say are trundling along, doing not a lot. He knows that delaying it is his best approach. He knows it’s worked in the past. I know it’s easy to say the DOJ won’t run out of money, but they’ll stop pursuing him if he gets re-elected. The letter that tame GOPer has written means that the outcome, of this fraud trial will be appealed based on the potential for a request for an ethics review. That, as the article says, could take years and then he’ll do his other appeals.

Trump is a scam artist of the highest order, but he knows how to play the system to his advantage and he is continuing to do so.
