Not entirely sure how sacking Tydeman helps matters any.
"The recent appointment of Mairi McAllan as the Cabinet Secretary for Wellbeing Economy, Net Zero and Energy is also significant, with insiders insisting she is "very delivery-focused"."

It that a new thing then? Worrying about delivery. I expect he will be getting a good payoff.

They should ask milkmen and paperboys to run the country, or whatever the non-gendered equivalent are. They are all delivery focused and make sure deliveries are on time. Every day. smile

Police Scotland on Twitter/X boasting about their new sniffer dogs trained to find hidden electronic devices.

They're taking this hate speech stuff really very seriously, but are becoming parodies of themselves!

Will the dogs have a rota to work out which ones get to go off round the world sniffing out electronic devices in far away lands which have been used to create this hate? What is the budget for this and what about all the physical person and physical property crimes are they not going to investigate with an already stretched budget?

Will they be sniffing out non-crime digital incidents?

Maybe they should wave a handful of money under the dogs noses and let them sniff out the missing £600k.

If that were the case it would be the only thing the SNP delivered early smile

As several people have observed in the comments, there are dozen of devices that can detect electronics either by picking up wifi or 3/4/5G pings or by detecting the density of the battery material. None of them have four legs or require feeding.

This really is comedy stuff.

Cabinet Secretary on the news last night ducking and weaving some pointed questions from the reporter about how and why Tydeman had to go yet not a single politician or civil servant has been in the firing line. "A board decision" she said. If any of this was a private company, Politicians would have been calling for the most senior scalps. But every part of this debacle - the tender, the spec, the build, the companies involved, the money paying for it - is ultimately a Nationalised structure with the Cabinet Secretary the ultimate accountable officer. Nope, nothing to see here, nothing to do with us.

Shambles entirely of SNPs process and decision making yet not one hint of any accountability being offered.

Speaking with a group of friends last night over a coffee, we discuss in general our social and political environment and the world around us. One lady in her late 50s said "what's this bill that is going through parliament next Monday? It sounds scary and slightly Orwellian.", to which I replied "it's not going through parliament - it's already been through. It's becoming law next Monday, get ready to start policing your thoughts..." There was increasing horror amongst a group of law abiding, never-been-in-trouble middle class types as I explained the full remit and incredible over-reach of the hate crime legislation, and the hilarious situation where the affirming of biological reality will become a hate crime if someone perceives it as an offence against their mental delusions masquerading as a protected characteristic. Literal Clownworld.
