Scottish Politics / Independence - Vol 12
Discussion
Well, that's the start of a change of government in Scotland. The SNP are two short of a majority so it will be interesting to see whether the Greens vote against them on everything and whether some SNP MSPs will now get more vocal and break the whip. What it is time for is Scottish Labour to get a backbone and realise they are the Scottish Government in waiting which requires them to not vote with the SNP on anything, having done so on some mad stuff in the past.
It’s official, Greens out https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cz5dy15grjnt

Time for a cheeky little vote of no confidence from the opposition parties?
Probably better to sit back and watch the SNP flounder for a while first
Minority government might suit the SNP short term as it may allow them to shift the narrative to blame other parties for lack of agreement on certain policies (and subsequent lack of action) and bring them back to the center where they tend to me more electorally successful.Probably better to sit back and watch the SNP flounder for a while first

If they had a leader with an ounce of intelligence and political nous then possibly, they’ve got Yousaf and a bunch of even more inept clowns in cabinet. Presumably the barrel will need to be scraped a bit more today to replace the Green MSPs whose snouts have been so cruelly hauled from the ministerial trough.alangla said:

OK, probably not the most insightful prediction, but I did call this nearly a month ago.Edited by Evercross on Thursday 25th April 10:15

What’s lurking in the background that Made Sumzar Useless to make such a massive u turn in 24hrs?
For once I think nothing. SNP's support is in freefall and they need every pro-independence voter they can get at the next General Election (where it is a single FPTP vote). Greens were leeching their support. Take our exiled pro-independence hypocrite ZedLeg as an example - he proudly stated he supports independence but votes Green.I said this at the start of the month...

the SNP's best shout would be to ditch Humza and the Bute House Agreement and make the best of a minority administration under a new leader for the next 2 years to give them a chance to retain Holyrood by distancing themselves from his electoral failure and legacy at the GE.
Humza saw the car crash coming for once and went into damage limitation mode.Edited by Evercross on Thursday 25th April 10:24
I think it is time Evercross stopped laying out the correct SNP strategy for them. They are obviously monitoring this forum.
That aside. The Greens are vote winners and good for Scotland. The SNP should apologise, invite them back, and carry on as before.
