Starmer refuses 3 times to say if Angie should resign if found guilty. He and Angie have been at the throats of every other MP in a similar situation but when it’s them they are just the same as any other political leader

Whatever the outcome of the Angela Rayner issue, it's been interesting to see how Sir Keir deals with a bit of scrutiny. In my opinion, he's not done very well at all. He appears hesitant and slightly shifty. He needs to up his game because the Tory press and so-called 'client journalists' are gunning for him already and it'll get worse.

Why on earth would he go beyond what he's already said? He couldn't fire her even if he wanted to.

I think he's happy to give Angela milquetoast, insipid support whilst the press savages her and the police investigation craters her reputation. He keeps the left wing of the party onside with some feeble words whilst hoping that she has shot herself so comprehensively in the foot that she has to resign. He then gets rid of her without looking like he wielded the axe. Furthermore, he doesn't have to row back very far on what he said (not that u-turning is something that worries him unduly).

I'm glad Starmer is not getting deeply involved in what is clearly a Tory witch hunt. And if this is the best they can come up with to deflect from their own sleaze then god help them.

Does anyone genuinely believe that narrative?
Yes actually. The findings are out there for anyone to read. But yeah, let's blame lefties for that one, FFS
What are you talking about?

Nobody has blamed anyone else.

FFS indeed.
So how else can you read The people getting drunk and wheeling suitcases of booze down Whitehall from the Co-Op were all (Lefty) civil servants and admin staff

Have your FFS back.

Whoever said they were good enough either? Not me.

This thread is about Starmer (do keep up at the back) & he's not good enough either.

If you think he is then you too are easily pleased.

The opposition are the least of his worries. The media (closely followed by the electorate) will chew him up and spit him out before breakfast the moment things start to go slightly awry. Indeed just like the Tories.

( Not to mention what will come at him from the Unions/ Momentum & co).

His problem is that what he needs is an iron grip on his party. What he has is an uneasy truce with all factions realising they need to keep their mouths shut & try & stay more or less on message in order to get elected.

He's had the best part of 5 years to build the kind of structure Blair built. It's nowhere near.

Ergo he's not good enough & therefore a waste of time.
