Has the World moved on already? Got to a tv at 3.20 and put on the two free to air news channels expecting blanket coverage. As of yet it’s not been covered on either channel. The BBC channel hasn’t even mentioned it in the headlines at the bottom of the hour.

Will be interesting to find out how he got it unless its an antique one. Modern type ones were banned from sale with 2007 VCR Act IIRC and its been illegal to keep one in your home fullstop (unless antique) since Offensive Weapons 2019 came in. There was a 'buy in' scheme at that point administered by the Police. Something else that has been 'banned' for sometime to protect the public where the legislation has once again failed the public.
These laws seem extremely effective at preventing nutters running around with prohibited items- let's ban lots of other stuff too.

Still the top story on the website. It’s often there case that BBC news prioritises different stories across different media. Radio 4 will usually have different headlines to the TV news.

When I was in my early teens I knew the area well. There are parts of Redbridge where this would not have been a shock. But not Hainault.

Whatever the reasons behind this, it’s a terrible event. Have to feel for all the victims, and their families.

That is so funny and you know at least half of what you have written is true
Definitely a nomination for post of the month!

I’d recommend it to anyone who takes their family security seriously.
How do you protect your family or visitors to your house from the dog?

Surely it's the family/visitors responsibility to get their own dog?

There's a carpet shop near me which has a giant, gold toddler shredder like some sort of monument outside the shop. Utter, utter chav scum.

(Sorry, I don't know how to make google streetview appear as an image)

Obviously there's a chav spec pick-up parked outside, of course there is.

If you're delivering carpets and floor tiles, a pickup probably makes some sense!

Just seen the Ring cam footage of the moment he was tasered, fair play to the cops, some serious bottle to go up against that whilst no doubt being aware that he'd already killed someone and injured others (and that colleagues had been injured).

The ARV pulling up moments later had clearly been driven hard there, smoke pouring from the brakes.

Policing is never perfect but you've got to hand it to those unarmed cops for standing up to this evil bd.

Agreed.

The first tazer seems to bounce off, not sure about the second. A lone copper would have really struggled.

She seemed to shoot him in the arse, and he disappeared from view after that so I assume he didn't like it up him.

It's not clear if the two injured offers were on that video (where he seems cornered) or in an earlier incident.

I assume for now mental health is the issue, but it will bring another wave of sword bans that will annoy genuine collectors (I imagine as I'm not one) but not really limit their availability.

Plenty of Katana blades are legal to purchase and own and they don't have to be antique due to an amendment of the act.

Came to the thread to comment similar about the ARV had been driven hard, clucking bells, that takes me back, can recall rocking up with smoking brakes but never as much as that.

Also as often say, those guys run towards danger, the offender is lucky he only faced tasers, few seconds later...

Then found the thread had gone well strange, odd thread to derail indeed.

I caet to post something similar but basically that the bravery , integrity and professionalism of the officers who responded is fantastic.

Especially when a 14 year old, most likely on their way to an average school day, has been killed.

Yet some prick makes a sword attack about their bizarre lifestyle choices and psychotic dog.

The ARV bases are central/inner London and at 7am it would be shift changeover times

The location of this incident is right on the edge of the Met Police boundary, in fact the Limes farm estate behind these side roads is actually in the Essex Police area

They must have travelled some distance at warp speed to get there as quickly as they did plus it’s the early morning rush hour

Surprised the car didn’t disintegrate when it got there !!
