Good question and I'm not 100% certain why, all I know is it doesn't sit easily with me. Probably because I was bought up to respect churches and religion and God (the particular flavour I was bought up with) and even though I don't believe in it that lesson is still with me after all these years.

If you convert a church into something else altogether then nope, not at all, it's just the two pieces of religious symbolism overlaid makes a powerful statement. Like I said, I'm not religious but I can understand how someone who was could be upset by it.

Atrocity? It's an old church. Loads of them have been turned into shops, houses and clubs. Why does it matter that this one has turned into a 'Islamic center'?
