Discussion
My nominations:
Lockerbie release - Being prolonged by he-said-she-said rhubarb RE what Obama might or might not have said in a bloody kitchen!! Leads nicely into...
Fat Duck food poisoning - st happens. Only reported because of who happens to own the restaurant.
Swine flu - Mass hysteria of the year.

The Daily Telegraph and MPs expenses after the first two weeks, talk about over milking a story.
I completely and utterly disagree with you there. The fact that the people we have elected to represent us are wholeheartedly and without compunction ripping us off, should be shouted from the rooftops daily until we kick them out of office. This should NOT be forgotten and should be kept right in the public face until the general election.

"Celebrities" that haven't actually achieved anything other than something on another TV program. That's not NEWS it's entertainment and should remain the preserve of Heat magazine, not News programs.
The culture of celebrity through mediocrity rather than achievement should be derided or ignored by the news, not encouraged.

One more vote for Strictly and X-Factor crap. And Swine flu - although this has dropped down, the media are desperate to bring it back for more scare stories and frightening news!
How about investigative journalism? What about actually finding the news? What about telling us what is actually going on in the country / world?

Climate change spoken in such a way as if there's no counter argument to man made climate change - when in fact what they're saying is scientific rubbish. Typically, the BBC director of programmes has dictated that man made climate change is agreed and that no discussion to the contrary should be aired. The BBC balanced? Not in the slightest.
Every programme on BBC R4 mentioning Climate Change or Green-ness in one way or another.
Alistair Darling.
How awful 'bankers' are, and how instead of making lots of money (which is greedy) they should have made a bit of money, and then concentrated their efforts on spreading good will, and making clothes for orphans.
