Boris's conference speech

TBH I'd sooner vote to see Boris in number 10 than CMD. He seems more direct and trustworthy.
There still appear to be a large number of people who won't vote conservative due to a loyalty to the Labour brand. The "Toff" term was bandied around a good deal last night.
Labour are desperate and their media acolytes are doing all they can to help. There still appear to be a large number of people who won't vote conservative due to a loyalty to the Labour brand. The "Toff" term was bandied around a good deal last night.
Unfortunately as Labour found out over Crewe & Nantwich, it only hits the spot for existing envyist Labour dinosaurs, the wider electorate see through it to the vacuum beneath.

Sadly I didn't see any of his speech on the News Bulletins. Channel 4 devoted much of its time trying to find 'splits' on Europe instead.
Same on here to a degree.Doesn't look like that's working too well either - with Boris's not even a cigarette paper between me and CMD, and Ken Clarke's we have a single clear policy and I've given it to you.
So far, well-disciplined troops are batting it back. Michael Gove did as well as could be expected last night when the rude interviewer, who should at his stage of career know better, barely allowed Gove to get half-way through a sentence in reply, never mind finish it. The interviewer just looked like a rude old git.
The BBC website was amusing yesterday. They had a report saying basically that the tories announced at their party conference that they were going to get the scroungers back to work and would be very careful to insure that the less able and elderly were looked after at the same time. Cue all the usual labour supporters on the "have your say" deliberatly recommending their own posts several million times which read along the lines of "typical tories - target the weak, handcapped and vulnerable" etc etc.
You get the impression that the due to all the media coverage we now have which we didn't in 97 or even in the last one this elections going to be bloody. At least with all the media support from the Murdock and the like, Winky won't dare not call a general election.

There was some strange moderating behaviour going on there - me and a few work colleagues posted some comments (not rude or insulting but pointing out the hypocrisy of the Labour party and how actually the Tories aren't taking away genuine benefits)...all comments rejected. You get the impression that the due to all the media coverage we now have which we didn't in 97 or even in the last one this elections going to be bloody. Just watching Boris vs Paxman on Newsnight .. I have NEVER seen Paxman so rattled! Hilarious.
There are very few politicos capable of going toe-to-toe with Paxo, and Wor Bozza is one of them.Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
