Why exactly do want politicians protected from the mob? I'm perfectly happy they can be lynched at any time.

Plastic bullets, one maybe two per protestor.

That would A, Bring them down. B, Deter further actions like this one.

As said before, if they were wearing burkas and carrying satchels how long would they of been allowed up there ?

I would cordon off the whole area, stop any contact with them from anybody inc the press and leave them there to get bored. When they get down, arrest them.
Your kind of missing the point...

I don't think anyone really cares WHO is up there, it's more that how did they manage to get up there when our 'supposed' anti-terrorist measures are supposed to be so tight?
Didn't miss the point at all . . . the MP's organised their own security . . . so how good do you think it's going to be ? Brewery . . . piss-up . . . organise . . . couldn't . . .in a . . . reorganise into a well known phrase smile

Doesn't bother me at all that anybody got up there, but as they are mentalists lets have some fun with the nutters smile

The only way - somewhere were the riot police get the job done regardless.

These kind of people get political funding to do this kind of thing. Lots of money. As a result, politicians can say they feel pressured into doing what they wanted to do anyway, but can claim a whole bunch of bogus and spurious reasons such as 'bowing to public opinion'. When that opinion doesn't reflect the 'right' answer they spend £6m of tax on prime-time tv propaganda adverts that won't work either.
