Calling for snow through the weekend here in Billins, Montaner. Just went outside and the clouds have that silvery/ambery look to them. Usually gets us 10 to 12 inches.
Montana? You better soak your panties in antifreeze! Is it true that there is still land there free for settlers? Jimbeaux said:

Land here definatly isn't free but on a Friday night you could probably buy some from an 'Injiun' for a six-pack, if you don't mind all of the derelict cars and school busses that come with it.
Hey Jimbeax, are you related to Shelby "The Swampman" Stanga from Discovery Channels "Axe Men"?
They have also had way more snow than usual in Sweden this winter according to some of SWMBO's relatives, to the point where there have been a couple of buildings collapse under the weight, and that is in a country where buildings are designed to take account of snow loadings. Funny stuff this global warming!

I had to put my shoulder to the door to get out the other day, outer doors in Sweden open outwards, and before I got it open enough to fit my lardy butt through it, 3 feet of weather had fallen into the hallway.
Somebody had one of those silly American pick ups stuck above the wheel arches a while back.
And I'm definitely going to have to give the snowblower and oil change and a service, it's never been worked so long so hard.
Mind you the snow isn't as bad as that year we had to get the Sno-cats out to attend emergencies as even Sweden couldn't cope with that snow.
Must be evidence of global warming, not as much snow as that year.
Is the US weather system due to make it's way across the Atlantic? if so better put in more servers to deal with yet more winter tyre threads.

During the last few weeks a friend's family in Poland were looking outside at over 2 metres of snow. I've just woken up, the coffee machine has just gurgled and it's snowing horizontal.
This snow is, according to the weather people, the heavy stuff.
At present we have about 15" if it is the wet heavy stuff that is a bu66er.
I would much prefer 3ft of light powder.
I'm going to wait for it to stop snowing before I go out and try to find the newspaper with the blades of the snowblower.

Did Delaware really order all vehicles off the roads or is that just a rumour?
That is normal, declare a state of emergency, it makes it easier for the ploughs. In NJ we have S of E till 8am Sunday. Basically means emergency vehicles and snow ploughs only, but if you are a doctor nurse utility worker one is still expected to attend work.If you do drive be aware that a plough will not stop at a red light. It cannot stop with three tons of snow in front of it, it would never get going again.
State of emergency also gets you access to Federal dollars
