Local radio station in Mobile is predicting snow here in Florida at the weekend! Superb, just got to drive to NY on Monday/Tuesday. This could be fun.
I've just driven from Boston to Syracuse, and it was fine. Can't vouch for the big snowy bit underneath that, however Ah well, seat warm heaters to High.

Snow storm stretching a 1,000 miles across the north central and north east of the nation. 20-30 inches of snow with 50 MPH wind gusts. Where is Al Gore this week?
Jim: Sounds like the bad snow stuff is (just) missing you at the Rouge but you seem to be getting your share of the cold. You are on one side of freezing and we are just on the other side of freezing but about 2000 miles north. At the end of Dec. when we were in Florida the tourists wore the short sleeve shirts and the locals wore long sleeve shirts with winter coats. Have friends in N.C. and Va. and up the east coast and I try to keep an eye on what you guys are getting and trust me I feel for you all. You are probably better off than the rest of them and with the Saints demolishing the spread on Sunday (CONGRATS) the early start of M.G. is keeping some people warm. Put the coffee on as I will probably hit La. after Out of Woodwork 2010.V8TVR1978 said:

If a blizzard hit DC and shuts down government, there is another day the people are safe. Atmore, Alabama has snow this evening. The snowball fight in downtime Atmore made the local tv news!
Atmore is about 2 miles north of the Florida Panhandle, and right on the top of it at that, so I'm assuming the northern part of Escambia County (Florida) just got snow as well. The southern part of Escambia county (Pensacola) hasn't got snow yet, but apparently its on its way.
To give anyone an idea of how unusual this is - the last time Escambia got snow was 1996. The number of times Florida got snow in the last 10 years can be counted on one hand. And when I say Florida, I mean any bit of Florida, not the whole state getting a covering. If a snow flake landed in someone's garden - that counts as a hit!
Anyway, if you want to see some first class over-reactions to this snow, most Escambia schools were closed today ready for the whole inch of snow, and all the military bases in the area have closed.

This global warming thing has me more confused than a woodpecker in a concrete forest.
I don't believe that for one minute Jim, in as much as you know exactly what the score is I'm sure, but global scams of this magnitude could lead one to bang one's head against a concrete lamp post, I agree Jimbeaux said:
More snow in tropical Louisiana today. It has snowed a record breaking number of times this year. This global warming thing has me more confused than a woodpecker in a concrete forest.
We've had snow on the ground here in Montaner for 74 days now, 80% chance we'll get more tomorrow. The city of Billings only plows the main arterials so all of the side streets look like tank traps. Sure would like to see I-49 from Shreveport to Opelousas in the snow. I'll never forget when I drove it, so lush and green and the sunset that lasted to Alexandria, but I drove on, in darkness, because I thought I would get killed there.
By the way, what do they do at Barksdale AFB, it looks like the have a 12,000 ft runway and some decent fishing...

Barksdale holds large B-52 squadrons. Kosovo attacks were launced from there and returned there....round trip; I bet that was a b!tch! Barksdale has been chosen to house the new Global Strike command.
