Over the last couple of years or so reading and contributing to PH threads I have mentioned the "special treatment" that Asians/Blacks (anyone not White and English) have received over the last 8 years and that this was a major contributing factor in the growing anger/frustration towards "minority" communities.

I was told that this was stupid and minorities do not receive special treatment (even though I had witnessed it many times whilst working for a previous employer) and I should stop being a little Englander.

Anyone know if he will still get his police pension?
"The Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA) will eventually be responsible for deciding what happens to him."

"The MPA has the power to sack Dizaei, as well as forcing him to give up all or part of pension"
Although he is still sitting on a bucket load of cash from an Emplyment Trinunals amd legal compensation claims after the last failed trial.

It's a valid point, which comes up in a (semi-acceptable) guise called 'Positive Discrimination'. While based on laudible sentiments (that some people need a 'hand-up' in life), it is somewhat flawed from many points of view.

The case of Dizeai however goes way beyond Positive Discrimination and demonstrates how, when you have an administration that tries to promote the rights of a miniority group, it is all too often abused by that minority group to gain unfair self-advantage. The 'average' person of course is powerless to stop this abuse, as the official line is that the minority group is trustworthy and that to suggest otherwise is prejudiced (a situation that is played hard to their own advantage by the abuser.)

Couple this with the often well-founded belief that some minorities ARE less honest than other groups, and you have a rapid downward spiral. A spiral that leads to, amongst other things, anger/frustration towards "minority" communities.

Glad that someone else agrees, the current administration have been very happy to promote this as a majority of minority groups traditionally vote Labour and keeping these core voters "sweet" has always been very high on their agenda and bks if you/we don't like it tough.

Problem is the Torys/Libs are very happy to try and convert these voters so I don't ever see things changing and only the few that push it too far will ever be punished, thus the frustration will grow and grow.

Anyone else look at that and think somewhere up north a pub is missing its landlady?
Or that somewhere in the Urals, a small town is missing its Carnival Queen, 1986.

She's minging. hurl
Behave.
She's no supermodel, but if you think she's 'minging' then you'd have a coronary if you walked around the estate I work in.

We really need a rule where someone wanting to make comments like that has to post up a pic of their current bedmate.

While I see where you are coming from, I'm not sure it is that simple. 'Racism' and 'Playing the race card' are the two contradictory forces that drive an ever-destructive spiral. If you didn't have the one, the other would go away. BUT, while you have both, they will both continue to get stronger.

If and when we can have a society which is truly colour-blind; i.e. colour has no bearing on anything whatsoever, the problem will go away. While we have special treatment for anyone who is in any way different, the problem will self-perpetuate. When we can openly discuss differences between races, colours and cultures, without the PC police forbidding honest and factual debate, then these differences will start to disappear. When it ceases to be distasteful to observe that most street muggings are committed by black males, that the vast majority of terrorists are muslims, that the asian community is the most likely to commit identity theft and to drive without insurance/tax/MOT, we may have a hope of countering these things. However the current polity however prevents this - on all levels.

I happen to think that society has sown the seeds of the problems we see now, and continues to sow them in a desperate attempt to solve those problems.

Thats as so - but racism is still rife out there - I have seen it msyelf

Its evident on here that many people seem to be very cynical of minorities- people seemingly holding down senior jobs - which is worrying if they already hold views like that then its no surprise there are problems out there.

Funnily enough your multitude of threads bhing about her being an utter harpy who allowed herself to get up the duff against your extremely strong wishes probably negates those plus points.

Yup it is rife, I have been called white *unt and *astard a number of times over the last few years, tools like Dizaei (and of course the law makers who made his actions possible) only make matters worse.

Racism is not the one way street many believe it to be.

Erm, yes. It's just the start of things to come.

But i do realise he could easily get killed there. Wouldn't want to wish that on anyone (no matter how much of a tt one is).
