I would be more worried if I resided in Iraq or Afghanistan. There is a large western force mounting up in Afghan for an assault, so maybe they will strike there?

Can't see what they can do to the UK, unless its terror related.

But, it may just be a load of hot air as usual smile

So if Iraq didn't have weapons of mass destruction it must be Iran.

As far as the big suprise, a small u.g. test possibly, but I doubt they are that far advanced. Famous last wordssmile

Surely it was always both?

Anyhow, perhaps the punch is a (proper) long range missile?

Had Saddam made a similar comment before we attacked him, I doubt there would be one person who would have objected.

We can not permit a country like this to have nuclear weapons. Regime change must be the target. Theocracy is dangerous.

Trouble is, Iran are touted as the bad man in the middle east for wanting to have a nuclear detterent and the situation is so often sold to us as 'Look at the IRanians destablising the region with their quest for nukes'. BUT, the balance of power is already out of kilter with Israel being the only nuclear power there.

With all the rhetoric flying around the region if I was in charge of Iran I'd want a nuclear deterent as well. Lets face it, the Iranian administration aren't the only criminally insane regime in the region are they, The Israeli lunatcs give them a good run for their money.

Most likely a test of a long range rocket is on the cards (do they have any that can reach Tel Aviv?) or perhaps further. The agressors will turn out to be Israel, they wont put up with it, especially if it is a nuclear test of some kind. The middle east is on borrowed time from the looks of things.

Also with Iran saying it won't stop until Israel is wipped off the face of the earth.

Israel did well enough without nukes. And the US buys off or trades with enough Muslim ME countries to mildly deter any direct action. US has given $28bilions to Egypt since the 70s.

Isreal was invaded within days of it's founding...

I'm not saying it needs nuclear weapons, but it is understandable why they would want them
