My local news carries famous obits along side the local death notices. These are two of most PHer's countrymen. I must admit, I do not recognize them. Perhaps they hold some memories for some of you:

Well known to many of us PHers over a certain age. Carmichael was a regular in British comedy films of the 50s and early 60s and then went on to have a successful TV career into the 70s,
Dankworth was one of the giants of the British jazz scene and composed some famous themese for British TV and films. His, wife, Cleo Laine, is a famous British jazz singer in her own right and is still performing.
