Been to many games? Have you heard some of the boring race analysis? Each to their own, fellow, each to their own. You know you can like more than one sprt. It's not motorsport OR football.
May be he's got taste.

Footballers are morons. Football is as stupid as religion- it's for the mindles moron masses. Football fans are morons. Footballers and their fans should all be put to death.

That is all
too right and as ure based in usa i presume you are talking about american football. as for soccer its the beautiful game..
That would be you're. Also you may use capitals for the start of sentences.

Do you really find football to be a "beautiful" game? Really?

You find beauty in watching 22 men run about in shorts...

Whatever floats your boat I suppose. I like the game, definitely not beautiful.

As for the campaign, I can't see many footballers getting involved. As then they will be labelled as homos by the fans.

Here we are, anyway, on another 'footballers are dumb' bandwagon! Roll up, roll up... The dumb people earning millions a year really are dumb... wait, what?
Yep-they're rocket scientists- every damned one of them.
It's a sad reflection on society that dim morons can earn so much kicking a pigs bladder around, and that the morons who support this rubbish furnish this.
Did I say they were rocket scientists? I simply said "the dumb people earning millions a year", so maybe they aren't so dumb? Oh never mind. You go back to your little generalisations that make you warm and fuzzy inside.

Welcome to Idiocracy!
You're making the assumption that you have to be clever to earn lots of money. This is clearly not true- just look at some of the bankers on here talking drivel.

Bringing this back on topic, I can't help but think the FA approached this in the wrong way. Rather than asking individual players to get involved, they should have approached it at club level. If, for example, Man Utd agree to get involved then they can ask/tell their players that they need to show up for the press event. This would remove the issue of individual players being picked on as it would be an entire squad fighting against homophobia.

As to whether they should be doing something about, I personally think they should. When there were big problems with racist chants in the crowd, or when up here we had problems with bigots in the Rangers/Celtic games, the teams realised that it was painting their sport in a bad light. They realised that to protect the game they love, and the game that earns them money, they needed to act to remove the problem. It strikes me as a shame that homophobia doesn't seem to be taken as seriously as religious bigotry and racism.

And what have you done in the name of anti-homophobia?

Absolutely nothing, but if my job was threatened due to homophobic shouts from the stands (that reminds me, I really do need fans to cheer for me when I'm at work) then I would probably do something about it.

If you change 'homophobia' to 'racist' then the response by the FA and the clubs would be completely different, as we have seen in the past. I guess I don't understand why.

What the hell does being a footballer have to do with it? remember the Outrage pins many moons ago that I know I would certainly not wear, and all the other charity stuff I wouldn';t be seen dead in.

Exactly. you may support a cause but you do not have nail your left testicle to the mast head to confirm you support it

Is it not Moronic to make sweeping statements to suggest all football players and fans are moronic???

Do I detect a certain jealousy as to how much money footballers earn just becuase they exploit a certain skill/intelligence that you dont have? If anything they should be respected (well some more than others) They are large contributers to the tax system, the top few clubs generate a lot of foreign interest and the players and clubs are very charitable. Nothing to sinister there...

Yes there are fans who are in fact moronic who follow football, they are the loud minority. however, there are also a lot Morons who dont follow football... get a grip...

They are good at a sport - it's not intelligence really though is it? - i mean are you telling me Wayne Rooney is intelligent - damn good footballer but probably not the sharpest tool in the box (albeit one without a goal). As someone who has to share the tube/train with their 'fans' in SW London (think Blue) i can definitely say a sizeable number of them are morons. Rugby fans are less likely to behave like wkers .. though one tried to chest-bounce me for a 'larf' so i guess there's always the exception.

This could be broken down further and split intelligence up. Sure they may not be known for being academically intelligent(though many are), however they posses other intelligence far greater than you or I possess in the footballing field(no pun intended)

Footballers including Wayne Rooney have the intelligence to read the game like no one else, they perform skills and make crucial decisions that most couldn't fatham. The difference is the situation. A stock broker buying and selling shares uses his uses his intelligence to read the game, perform his skills and make crucial decisions. A Doctor uses his intelligence to diagnose the situation(the game), perform his skills and make crucial decisions.

Lots of big muscly men in shorts and disturbingly tight tops, rolling around in the mud together, showering together afterwards, followed by a few drinks while wearing women's clothes? What's gay about that?
