If you don't recognise most of the politicians in that bbc news link then I suggest you stay out of political debate.
It would be interesting to find a similar shot of the current shower to compare

I think its going to keep swinging until the starting gate whistle is blown. These numbers will ensure that winky stays right to the end though.

Tories will get in in the end. Thats the optimist in me saying that once people get to the polling station, they will be hard pressed to think of how wealthy they are right now - especially if they drove to the station and filled up just beforehand.

What happens if the day after the budget the papers say it is rubbish (as they have for the last few) and Winky bottles again? He will just hang on until the last possible moment, which means an election on 3 June. Then on 4 June, he will have to be dragged out of No. 10, kicking and screaming.

But it will be the same hardship for the taxpayer whoever gets in,

Yes, Labour have had one terms too many (well three terms in my view but you know what i mean!), the first time they have ever got in for three terms. I do think if the Tories had won the 2005 election the country would still have the same problems but more harsh action would have been taken, the hardship and pain would have been done and we would not have racked up this huge amount of debt for Labours pathetic political gain. You have to give credit to the tories, in 1997 when they knew they were going to loose the election they had a lot of things prepared for a safe hand over to Labour for the country's sake. This lot of filthy parasites are doing nothing more than wrecking as much as possible to leave a poison chalice, that should tell anyone who is going to vote who NOT to vote for, but it wont.

If the Tories do get back in i dread tot hink of all the stuff they are going to discover.

Actually interesting to think where we would be now with the banks etc if the Blues had won in 2005.

You know it has been proven in the past that lowering the tax burden on the individual actually reaps more in revenue.

I am in two minds whether this would work initially in a Conservative first term due to the absolute parlous state left by Gordo but they want to make small businesses less taxed (NI) which will encourage growth of the 'oh so hated by Labour' private sector. That's got to be good for the economy and ultimately revenue will rise.

But Labour are in the same place as the Tories back in 97.

Although you are going to tell people about your future plans, you also have to try and reconcile why you haven't done this earlier.

The difference between 97 and today is that things in 97 weren't actually that bad. We just got told by Labour it could be even better, despite them slamming all policies into reverse.

I find it interesting that the Beeb in particular are talking of a hung (or should that be hanged?) parliament and hence the greater influence of the Liberals.

Does anyone know if there is some kind of correlation between voting patterns and thoughts of a hung parliament i.e. does the thought of a hp change voter patterns and behaviours?
