Stupid rules but how can you be surprised when your country laws are based on some guy's ramblings in a cave centuries ago.

Oooo the sun in outburst at foreign country for imposing its law on brits abroad shocker.
While I agree with that statement generally, perhaps Britain should not do any business, and forbid any British company to do business, with places that seem to have laws that blatantly violate human rights.rypt said:

Also, don't expect to enjoy a similar level of rights! If you don't like that, don't go there!

And Britain can do just fine without doing business with Dubai and so on, for that matter if the wider western world followed the same principle China would soon be forced to change it's practises.
We don't need outside help, we need a government that is prepared to do the correct thing and force the scum in this country to work

Oddly enough, the people I've spoken to when I was living in Easton/Bristol (Mostly non-whites) totally agree.
Once again, it isn't a snag with the people, it's a snag with the government. Our particular government want to and are smashing our country in order to facilitate a broader, more inclusive, less "bad", EU, where we will all share our wealth, hold hands, celebrate diversity, buzzword, bullst, etc and "they" will cream their rightful huge reward for being the amazing facilitators of this.
It's what happens when the population let the people in charge lose sight of their tasks.
Rights are an artifical construct created by people who have little grasp of geography or human nature. They tend to come from people in positions of comfort.
If I was in charge, those people wouldn't be in positions of comfort, they would be working like the grafting children they seek to free.
