The only way we have a future as a country, as far as the economy is concerned is to get away from this social undemocratic madness that is westminster, all policy and the EU.

The only way forward is a return to libertarian capitalism post IMF.

Whatever gets elected is going to fall on it's face. The country is that fked.
Correct. Which is why you should vote Lib Dem, so we get a hung parliament, voting reform has to be pushed through, we end up with proportional representation and can elect UKIP or even Libertarians into a right wing coalition next time around.

Catch 22. Libdems are pro Europe. Europe doesn't allow Libertarians.

Should there be some kind of competency test for people to pass before they are eligable to vote?

I would say an IQ test but in my experience IQ does not necessarily guarantee wisdom.

Maybe some kind of basic test to see if people actually know the key manifesto pledges of each main party would be an idea.

Oooh, he looks like a nice man. He's so shiny and smiley, and says such refreshing things from the other two. Let's vote for him.

Never mind the fact that they will not build any new nuclear power stations (where will our power come from, magic beans?), smash you for having a nice car, or remove any point of aspiring to do better in your job as you will be taxed through the floor.

FFS, did we learn nothing from the election of Blair?
they are all as thick as st.
Morons convinced by a sweet talking act by someone moderately presentable.

Doesn't matter. The parliament will be pathetic and acheive very little other than a marvellous constitutional crisis where it is plausible Labour will come 3rd in the popular vote and gain the most seats. There will have to be voting reform.

Agreed it is possible the party with least votes (of the top 3) ends up with most seats, but so what. We end up with another Lib/Lab pact that bickers away, trying to keep the fighting under control enough to avoid meltdown and another election.

Do you think a change in the voting system would have prevented the recession or war we are fighting?

The reason for this is that the Boundary Commission have been doing a lot of changes to make sure Labour stay in power. Where we live is a LibDem seat, next door constituency is solid Labour. Somehow all the well to do areas have been moved into the Labour constituency where they will have little effect due to a big Labour majority. The seat they were moved from then became a marginal LibDem seat. Everything was in Labours favour.

AS crap as many LibDem policies are, I'm voting for them. They're the only party that will implement PR that will get us a proper democratic system.

Even if they totally f*uck up the country in the short term, at least my dughter will have a vote that counts when she grows up, rather than being forced into voting for 'the lesser evil' every 5 yrs.

"Shockingly, because of the vagaries of the first-past-the-post system, this would still make Labour the largest party in a hung Parliament, 68 seats short of a majority; there would almost certainly be a Lab-Lib coalition. If the Tory fightback fails, they are finished: the Lab-Lib coalition would introduce proportional representation, meaning that a pure Tory government would never again be possible in Britain. David Cameron has very little time to save himself and his party from Armageddon."

No she won't. The would require a more to a direct democratic system rather than a representative one.

You don't get it, vote for any of them and you will hand it to incompetent social undemocrats. Yellow, blue or red, they are ideologically the same and the differences arcane.
