I don't get it, voting for libdem still hands it back to labour.
I would think they are taking the labour voter and people who havent voted before, although if your kids are farming/pimping on facebook all day, and you are in a conservative area, then you better damned be sure your kids are not going to cancel out your vote!

Fact.
It isn't just the UK. The vast majority of the human race are so blunt you can smoke them.

Are lib dems the only party who are going to start tackling the crazy benefits we hand out? for a start stop giving benefits to people who shouldnt need them?
are you serious? the libdems are further left than nulab. they are a party of wealth redistribution... ie MORE handouts.

Exactly^ - so why is this the only welfare cut ive heard on tv? I had not heard anything from the Conservatives on tv? - in fairness this lunchtime, there was a brief mention on BBC of their idea to take benefits from people without kids who dont play ball. (its the breading ones that are the biggest problem?)

could be wrong but i suspect the libdems are talking about means testing things like child support/allowance whatever its called, thus 'removing people who dont need it from welfare' ie removing the people who actually pay for it from being eligable.

You aren't wrong, that is the exact Lib Dem policy.

Scrote mother will still receive extra cash for child number eight, while anyone who works for a living will be means tested.

well there is logic to it. if you dont 'need' it to survive the state shouldnt be giving it to you, but the same logic should be extended down not just up the income scale. if you can afford sky tv you dont need state support.

What potentially needs to happen to have the tories in 1st place and running the government with the lib dems as opposition and labour sort of dead and buried as the 3rd party? Serious question.

All I will say is that the way the Lib Dems are getting more support than ever before does make me think that I may have to vote strategically tory to ensure my local tory candidate still gets in and I live in southwest surrey!

However my thoughts then are this could work to our advantage. Lib dems get in as opposition, we see them for the useless bunch we are and in 5 years time we get to vote UKIP or whatever to encourage the tories to actually be proper tories in the spirit of thatcher. Nobody said the next 5 years or longer were going to be easy.

Hmmm!

There does seem to be a vein of panic surfacing in the PH-Conservative massive.

I can understand that, but it's time perhaps to look for the up side?

IF and a big IF Lib/Dem get to make the next King, what do Conservatives really want out of that.

I suspect that the most important thing they could negotiate for is an English Assemble where perhaps a decent majority could be held?
After all the Reason Lab would not do it is because they knew it would be Conservative led??

Lib/Dem push for Proportional Representation and Conservative an English Assembly where BIG Government gives over more power to the Conservative lead Assembly and we are all happy?

If it's good enough for the Jocks and Taffys then it's good enough for us Limeys??
